historical v New amenities at Philip S. Miller Park kick up the experience
looking for adventure? The adventures keep growing with two new amenities that opened at the park earlier this year. The Adventure Playground and Epic Adventure Tower offer new experiences for Philip S. Miller Park goers to explore. The Adventure Playground is a unique playground experience that blends into the terrain of the area. A 60-foot slide, climbing ropes, disc swings and a large-dome climber are just some of the features kids can enjoy. The park’s natural landscape, grassy hills and breath-taking views are all highlighted by this playground, making it a great location for both kids and parents to spend time, enjoy a picnic and explore Castle Rock’s wonderful natural habitat. Adrenaline junkies there’s now more adventure for you. Scale the 42-foot climbing wall, rappel down one of four stations, or fling yourself from the top of a 72-foot eagle’s nest platform at the Epic Adventure Tower. The tower is part of the Castle Rock Zip Lines Tours and offers daredevils tons of new adventures. Check out castlerockziplinetours.com for details and pricing. And, this is just the beginning of all the new features planned for the park. Phase two is currently under construction and includes the core plaza, millhouse events pavilion and outdoor amphitheater. The core plaza will house group picnic pavilions, an outdoor fireplace, a splash pad and more. The millhouse will be a one-story indoor/outdoor events center for up to 80 people. It will also have an outdoor pond and water feature that will make it a perfect location for weddings and other events. Plus, more concerts will be headed to Castle Rock once the outdoor amphitheater is finished. Construction on phase two is set to be complete by the end of the year. Head to CRgov.com/PSMPark for more information about everything happening at the park.

plore PHILIP S. MILLER PARK TRAILS This trail network consists of single-track trails divided into four different, but interconnected, loops with paved, accessible segments in the active park area near the MAC. The trails explore all the valleys, knolls and high points of this 270-acre site. A unique feature on the site is the 200-step Challenge Hill staircase. The staircase climbs 178 feet in elevation and is similar to the Manitou Springs Incline. The trails and Challenge Hill are free and open to the public. Bikes are not recommended on the Challenge Hill staircase. This is an active regional park that now includes a zip line course and Adventure Playground area. Trail users should be aware of all park users and use caution on the trails and in the parking lots. Parking is available in the park and the main parking lot at the MAC. There are additional trail access points on Plum Creek Parkway and Wolfensberger Road. In the near future, the trails will also connect to Ridgeline Open Space and the Stewart Trail network to the west; the Ridgeline Trailhead parking lot is located on Coachline Road. The trail system is available for adoption through the POST Partners volunteer program. Call 303-814-7456 or email postpartners@CRgov.com for details. Trail length:
