historical New features planned for Philip S. Miller Park

meet me at the mac.

The Town is getting great feedback. Residents love the MAC and Philip S. Miller Park. Since opening, the MAC has been a resounding success. This guide shows all the classes and activities available, but there’s so much to do at the park, we almost couldn’t fit everything in. Now, there are plans in the works to add even more fun. In January, Town Council approved funding for the second phase of the park. Construction is now underway on the core plaza, the millhouse events pavilion and the outdoor amphitheater. The goal is to have construction completed by the end of the year. The core plaza will house group picnic pavilions, an outdoor fireplace and splash pad. The millhouse will be an indoor/outdoor pavilion with space for up to 80 people. There will even be an outdoor pond and water feature to make it the perfect location for weddings and other events. Plus, more concerts may be headed to Castle Rock once the outdoor amphitheater is complete. Meantime, the zip line tour and Head Rush Tower are scheduled to open this spring. You may have already seen people enjoying the birds-eye view. Castle Rock Zip Lines and Aerial Trekking will have three different features for adventure-seekers, including a 10-line zip line tour, the Head Rush Tower and a dual-race zip line for the most competitive daredevils. Head to CRgov.com/PSM, or castlerockziplinetours.com, for more information.

explore PHILIP S. MILLER PARK TRAILS This trail network consists of single-track trails divided into four different, but interconnected, loops with paved, accessible segments in the active park area near the MAC. The trails explore all the valleys, knolls and high points of this 270-acre site. A unique feature on the site is the 200-step Challenge Hill staircase. The staircase climbs 178 feet in elevation and is similar to the Manitou Springs Incline. The trails and Challenge Hill are free and open to the public. Bikes are not recommended on the Challenge Hill staircase. This is an active regional park that now includes a zip line course and Adventure Playground area. Trail users should be aware of all park users and use caution on the trails and in the parking lots. Parking is available in the park and the main parking lot at the MAC. There are additional trail access points on Plum Creek Parkway and Wolfensberger Road. In the near future, the trails will also connect to Ridgeline Open Space and the Stewart Trail network to the west; the Ridgeline Trailhead parking lot is located on Coachline Road. The trail system is available for adoption through the POST Partners volunteer program. Call 303-814-7456 or email postpartners@CRgov.com for details. Trail length:

Trail rating:
