EMMA HAGG A S

It is hard to imagine a painter who is more dedicated to the craft of painting than Emma. It is her keenness to realise her seeing and at the same time set down her intensity of feeling on the canvas, an intensity that gives her painting its exuberant life. All her work has passionate sweeping lines of colour that add further life to the beauty of the downs that surround her – a subject that she is passionate to portray. She is always keen to draw her subject from observation before painting, knowing and respecting the tradition of the great painters before her, who would search to understand the tonal life, shapes and composition that makes sense of any fine view. It is this academic honesty, combined with the highly personal excitement that she has in abundance that gives such life to her paintings. There is little doubt that she has far to go in the world of paint and she will realise it in a most personal way. I strongly recommend her exhibition to you. Robin Child

“We have loved watching Emma’s painting evolve into beautiful landscapes with organic palettes and bold brushstrokes. An ‘Emma Haggas’ enhances any room.” Dinah and Harry Marriott

Emma studied Fine Art, History of Art and Education at Homerton College, Cambridge and taught Art to A level. She has been showing at Cricket Fine Art for many years and is now painting full time.

“I love the exuberance of Emma’s painting. Her depiction of the landscape is joyful and full of colour and makes clear how able a draughtsman she is.”
