Hey Cubs! The weather is getting pretty cold nowadays so I hope you’re all bundling up! This past weekend was Holiday Circle! A project that key club sets up for the children of Davenport each year! I hope everyone had fun and enjoyed the morning! In other news at the end of this week is the start of winter break! YAY! That means Christmas, and New Year’s! Many of you will be going on vacation so please enjoy the break and safely come back to us next year with renewed spirit and enthusiasm for service! Holiday Shop at Swift School Swift School hosted another holiday shop this year. Although, not as much families attended this year, the event was still on to celebrate the upcoming Christmas. The holiday shop allowed kids to purchase affordable gifts for their beloved families. Along with gifts, the Parents’ Club provided refreshments, such as desserts and drinks. Highlight of the night is pictures with the very witty and friendly Santa Clause. I was able to see smiles on kids as they told Santa what was on their wish list this year. Hopefully, Key Club will be given the opportunity to help out next year again.

Holiday Circle I would like to congratulate and thank every single person who aided in the process of creating Holiday Circle. This year’s Holiday Circle was a wonderful success, and I could not be any more pleased with the outcome of this annual event! Special thanks go out to all the Key Clubbers who took time out of their Saturday morning to come out to help out with the event, and all the Key Club officers who helped plan and set up the event as well. This event could not have been properly executed if it was not for everyone’s help and cooperation. We had a great turn out of kids attending Holiday Circle this year, and the children were pleased and very happy with all the activities planned. This event was planned to give back to our local community by contributing to our community’s youth, and we met that goal! With everyone’s help, we were able to create many favorable memories to everyone who attended. With all the food, stations, arts and crafts, dancing, and games, it is no surprise that Holiday Circle was a fantastic event for children of our community to attend during the holiday seasons. I really could not be any more pleased with the results of this year’s Holiday Circle, and I would like to thank everyone again who helped with this event! BY: KENNETH YE

Pictures with Santa Holiday Circle 2013 was where key clubbers were able to celebrate Christmas with students of Davenport. It was a day of laughter, dancing, playing, and memories. Not only that, but there was food along with pictures with Santa Claus. Key Clubbers were able to hang out with the Davenport students and do activities like arts and craft, egg drop, face painting, and many more games. Holiday Circle may have been one of my top most favorite projects I have volunteered at. The project was very enjoyable, lively, and merry. It was very nice to see kids enjoying the day as they listened to Jolly music, eat delicious Christmas treats, getting reindeers painted on their faces, and so much more. Holiday Circle also gave me the chance to experience a new environment with kids I normally would not approach. I would encourage skeptical key clubbers to attend this amazing project because it may change the way you look at Key Club. BY: KE;LLY MA

Slaybaugh craft shop Slaybaugh craft shop was a time for little kids to get in the spirit of Christmas they got to make arty little projects like coloring or little e ornaments as well as name tag with splat paint. They got to make potholders and a Santa hat for themselves . They was even a little elf shop where they could purchase things they would like. Besides all the fun stuff their was even A secret Santa store that sold gifts people could buy pre-wrapped gifts. At each table people were selling different things like scarves, lotions, clothing etc. The day was filled with smiles from little kids I would definitely recommend key clubbers to do this project next year if we get the chance.
