President’s Message ! Hey Key Cubs! “How are you doing!” I hope you’re all feeling good! This is the second meeting of the new term and I’d just like to say that we’re off to a good start. Keep checking Stevenson’s door for more projects and sign up whenever you can! I’d like to congratulate the new officer committee chairs again! There was an amazing turn out of candidates last Tuesday for the interviews! Everyone was probably nervous but you all did great! Trust me, the officers and I were excited to hear all your new ideas! Ironically more people came to the interviews than our first general meeting. All joking aside remember to attend the meetings and anticipate the revival of the KC Olympics! Also don’t be afraid to talk to the officers. We don’t bite! Promise! We’re here to listen to all your opinions and complaints! If the meetings are boring then tell us! We won’t be offended but remember if you guys want a fun meeting then you guys have to be involved. No one wants a boring meeting right? Lastly, for all the people taking AP exams and SATs coming up, good luck and remember to relax and breathe, it’s almost over! I love you guys! Yours in Caring, Love, and Service Vi Nguyen EHTHS Key Club President

Editor’s Message ! Hey Cubs, I know you’re all anxious to find out who your new Committee chairs are; I am too. This week, we had the March of dimes, which is a walk to help premature babies. All the money you raised will go to babies who are not fully developed. When they are born their bones aren’t as strong as normal babies, and you can see their veins through their skin. They have to stay hospitalized and away from their mothers. In a way, it’s almost similar to the Eliminate project. This past Sunday, we supported premature babies and made a change. Cubs, every bit counts so go out and support your community! Also congratulations to the new Committee chair members. Yours in Caring, Love and Service Cristel Villagarcia EHTHS Key Club Bulletin Editor

THE KEY CHAIN

Volume XIII, Issue 2 April 30,2013

March of Dimes The healthier, the better ! Babies are adorable human beings who come into the world with a smile; sadly, some of them are premature. Premature means they are not fully develop. They must be protected and handled with caution. The nurses have to be very careful and due to their lack of bone structure, their arms and legs become very weak. Due to the fact they are very frail beings, they must stay hospitalized and treated till they are more stabile to go home. The mother will not be allowed to touch her child, “,even the first time it’s born” She must wait to take her new bundle of joy home, and when she does, she still has to be careful. These children are born every day throughout the year and all we have to do is participate the event. March of dimes is a 5k run or walk. Help fight premature birth !
