As March ushers in St Pa0y’s Day and the “Pot of Gold “at the end of the rainbow, we are all reminded of life’s good fortunes. Your SOSC Board members conDnually receive “Pots of Gold” – one of them being your a0endance at our previous and upcoming monthly events! We are so blessed to see so many new and smiling faces. All of the new friendships have been a colorful sight for the SOSC photographer as well!

The February Cooking class at Eckert’s was such a yummy experience that some of us needed to revise our New Year’s ResoluDon of losing a few pounds. The day started off with a great country style breakfast, and then we headed into the Cooking class with a wonderfully tasty cooking demonstraDon. We were able to try a beet salad and shrimp ratatouille, topped off with a special treat of wine and cheese tasDng! It was only a small glass, so everyone could drive home safely! Prior to

heading home, we all treated ourselves to browsing through the many wonders of the Eckert’s store. Check out the photos on page 7. Thanks, Sarah, for the great photos of the day! Our biggest fundraiser for the SOSC, Trivia Night, is just around the corner on March 2nd -‐ hopefully you have your seats and tables reserved! We’ll be co-‐sponsoring this event with the SESC; we have already gathered some incredible donaDons from a variety of local and St. Louis businesses, so get ready for a terrific event! See our flier on page 9 for details.

Also, don’t forget your check book as we will have plenty of vendors to shop ‘Dl you drop! View the event flier on page 10 for details. Thank you to our great board for their hard work and dedicaDon to these many successful events for our membership! And thank YOU for all of your SOSC support! We are looking forward to seeing all of you real soon! Deb Arquiette & the SOSC Board of 2012-2013

And, on March 13th, come travel to Wonderland and don’t be late, the Mad Ha0er is coming so please mark the date! You must look for your gloves, hats and all of your “tea wearing accessories” for our March social. The Mad Ha0er guest speaker, Ellen Leaf-‐Moore, owner of Fezziwig’s in Lebanon, IL, has a great presentaDon planned for us.

Mary Engelbreit Designates Print Proceeds to MCEC

Following her speaking engagement at our September social, renowned artist Mary Engelbreit created three designs acknowledging the service and sacrifice of military families. She took the additional step of earmarking the profits from the sale of the prints for MCEC programs and services. We think you’ll agree that the prints honor military families, and make great gifts. The artwork is available on prints or custom products (mugs, water bottles, mousepads, etc.) at www.maryengelbreit.com.
