In Périgord
away, Marqueyssac and its gardens are 3 minutes by car, while the canoeing-kayaking centre of Canoë Dordogne is 2 minutes’ drive.
Inspired by the architecture of the old tobacco barns, this architect’s house was built using a careful combination of modern building techniques and top-quality materials. Anne welcomes guests into her house all year round, which she designed from scratch with her husband Luc, artist-cum-painter decorator, and which is an excellent starting point for visiting « Périgord noir ». This house is located on the slopes of the picturesque village of La Roque-Gageac, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Sarlat, a Town of Art and History, architectural gem and capital for gastronomy is 10 minutes
The three guest rooms, Aliénor, Flaure and Malo, are spacious, air-conditioned and bright, with understated styling and upmarket comfort (Simmons beds, Algotherm welcome products), decent-sized (27 to 36 sq.m), and like the lounge, face south with a gorgeous view of the valley. The rooms each have a private bathroom, free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. American-style breakfast can be enjoyed on the terrace or in the lounge. Nestling in a garden with sun loungers, the establishment also offers massages and bicycle rentals.
