Wine tasting lessons and accommodation at Château Haut-Garrigue On an organically-farmed, biodynamic vineyard, Caroline Feely, a WSET1 accredited trainer and winemaker at Château Haut-Garrigue in Purple Périgord, is offering wine tasting courses of two or four hours, delivered by her wine tourism company, French Wine Adventures, in French or English. Wine tasting lessons for beginners and introductions to the wines of Dordogne and the crus of Haut-Garrigue (€15 per person for two hours) can be accompanied by a “wine and food matching” meal (€25 per person) or a trip involving a walk and an aperitif (€10 per adult, €5 for children). A longer and more advanced course is also available with two day packages on offer: • The “Winemaker for a Day” package (€150 per person) includes a wine tasting course, lunch and the creation of a unique blend of wine. • The “Wine Discovery” workshop is an extended introductory course and is available for €99 per person. These days can be followed by a stay in the gîte at Château Haut-Garrigue, known as The Grape Escape. With the capacity to accommodate four people, it is situated at the heart of the vineyards offering an uninterrupted view from the terrace. Hire of the gîte starts at €350 per week in low season.
