You will be assigned a tour guide on arrival, and over the course of an hour, be introduced to the sights and sounds of their Barking. All tours finish at The Malthouse where you can find out how your version of history differs from others over tea and cake. The walking part of the tour lasts approximately 1 hour. This is karaoke with a difference – you are singing with a live 50-piece orchestra! What’s more with a special guest compere and guest performances by glamorous VIP singers, this event is just as much fun to watch as it is to take part. Just turn up with a picnic and all your friends prepared to sing your hearts out. For special solo karaoke slots just come along to The Lift on the day and put your name down.

Photographer Tunde Euba will be capturing the Festival at theBROADWAY Through the Lens to create a real time exhibition of the people and performers involved. Come along and see if you have been snapped or see some bits you might have missed. theBROADWAY will also be presenting creative workshops to help you develop your skills or give something a go for the first time. S ARTISTS V I ACT At Eastbury Manor House STUDIO 3 ARTS presents Community Matters a largescale work of art created by people from Barking and Dagenham. The artwork can be viewed throughout LIFT Molten Festival, so come and have a look! If you would like to be part of Community Matters and work with artists to create this amazing piece of art, join Studio 3 Arts at a special celebratory launch on Saturday 1 August at Eastbury Manor House. Everyone welcome. No experience necessary.
ARTS ACTIVISTS
The Arts Activists are a group of 6 local residents from all walks of life and at different stages of their lives; they range from 16 - 80. They represent some of the many different people of Barking and Dagenham and they are here to make their mark on LIFT Molten Festival. They will be inviting local residents to join them in The Lift on the afternoon of Friday 21 August for a special event designed and created by the group. So watch out, the Arts Activists will be taking their performance art into public spaces and asking local people – Is this art or just a cardboard cut out?

TRAIN BUSES The following buses stop at c2c service Grays – London the corner of London Rd and Fenchurch Street stops at North Street which is at the Dagenham Dock twice an north east corner of Abbey hour and goes direct to Green. Barking Station in just 6 5 (Canning Town - Romford), minutes! Abbey Green is a 238 (Stratford - Barking short walk away. Station) The following buses stop outside theBROADWAY theatre, across the road from Abbey Green. The Lift will be clearly visible from here. 287 (Barking – Rainham), 368 (Chadwell Heath – Hart Lane Estate), 369 (Thames View Estate – Illford), 387 (Little Heath – Barking Reach), 62 (Marks Gate - Gascoigne Estate)
