CLIMBING

CAMP

The Youth Climbing Camp, hosted by the Outdoor Pursuit Center, is an opportunity for children to push their limits and reach new heights through indoor and outdoor climbing. The full day camp will culminate with a trip to climb outside at John Bryan State Park on Friday. Climbing lessons may include (but aren’t limited to) learning climbing lingo, knot tying, movement skill development, belaying, bouldering on the 12 ft. boulder wall, and top-roping and auto-belaying on the 40 ft. main wall.

Introducing Outdoor Pursuit Camp: Here, your child will be encouraged to explore and play in nature. They will develop friendships and learn outdoor living skills such as cooking over a campfire and navigating trails with a map and compass. We will hike, explore the creek, play games such as capture the flag and have adventures on the high challenge course. Watch your child’s confidence grow as the week progresses. Camp will culminate with an optional family camp-out on Friday night at Hueston Woods State Park.

OUTDOOR PURSUITCAMP 2

Building on Outdoor Pursuit Camp I:

We will review some basic Outdoor Living Skills content and make preparations to head out on a 3 day / 2 night backpacking trip to Germantown Metroparks (Wed-Fri). Participants will gain confidence in following a map, setting up camp, and backcountry food preparation. We will get firsthand exposure at developing a better understanding of group dynamics and learn to safely navigate being off the grid for a few days.

Rec Camp provides a blend of recreation activities, including games and sports, arts and crafts, swimming, and much more. Activities are designed to help campers become more independent, enhance self-confidence, and develop mind and body in a fun and safe learning environment. This camp takes place at the Miami Rec Center.

ESPORTS DAYCAMP

New this year, Esports Day camp is focused on teaching the fundamentals of esports. We’ll discuss building good habits outside of the game, build up our scores with 3D Aim Trainer, and get in plenty of playtime with a variety of video games (Roblox, Rocket League, Fall Guys, Minecraft, Fortnite). Esports Camp introduces campers to building a common community through teamwork. Participants should look to bring their own USB compatible video game controllers (Xbox, Playstation, or Switch Pro controllers should all work).

EQUESTRIAN CAMP

FULL DAY CAMP

The full day camp is designed for riders with some prior riding experience and are comfortable grooming, tacking, and receiving discipline-specific riding instructions in an arena setting. Riders will ride twice per day.

OVERNIGHT CAMP

PRICE: $1,250

The overnight camp will develop skills relative to the show ring, sound equitation and horse management practices and developing the rider to further their career in college riding. Hunt seat, western, and dressage disciplines are available, riders will ride daily and learn equine and barn management skills. Meals and housing will be provided to all participants as part of their registration.

HALF DAY CAMP

Half day camp is designed for the beginner rider as well as the younger competitor. Camp activities vary from week to week, but include daily riding lessons and other horse related activities. Campers will learn how to groom, tack, ride, and care for their horses while enjoying fun camp games and activities with and about their horse friends.

On Mother’s Day and Father’s Day weekend, we are offering a chance for parents and guardians to take a night off! We will provide games and activities such as basketball, volleyball, soccer, movies and more!
