Asweheadintothe123rdyearofCULS,wecontinue tohaveexcitingplansinstore.Thisyear,wearestaying truetoourvaluesofimprovingaccessibility,widening thesocialimpactofourinitiatives,andequippingyou withtheskillstoexcelinthelegalprofession.Wewant CULS to remain a place for everyone, law student or not.
Brand new this year are our Diversity and Inclusion affinity groups, a widened scope of our alumni mentoring scheme, as well as an increase in pro bono internship opportunities. Our Michaelmas calendar is packed with skill-focused careers workshops for aspiring solicitors and barristers, social events with different firms, and moots organised in collaboration withleadingchambersintheUK.Wealsohavevarious opportunities for you to get involved – from Per Incuriam submissions, to pro bono subcommittee applications!
We’re also excited to be introducing digital membership cards, which our memberships department has worked on! We have also been continuingourpartnershipswithvariouslocalbrands in Cambridge to provide the best discounts to CULS members.Ourstashdepartmentwillalsoberollingout new stash, which hopefully becomes one of your wardrobeessentialsinyourtimeatCambridge.
It’s important to us that CULS remains an accessible and inclusive space for all, where people come together and forge lifelong friendships. Therefore, for our non-law members, our non-law department will be organisingvarioussocialsandpanelswhereyou can meet other CULS members, and legal professionals with a non-law background. We willalsobeimplementingaccesspricesforour annual law ball, such that everyone gets an equalopportunitytoattend.Wewillcontinue to post updates on our Facebook, Instagram and Mailing List for all our events, so please watch out for them for sign-up links and furtherdetails!
