Angela Piedade | Portugal I consider myself watercolorist, while for a plas`c expressivity that contemplates the merging of several techniques for beder representa`on of what I feel. I use oil, acrylic, watercolor, that allow me to capture a poe`c, diaphanous and sensual reality.

LISBON INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY EXHIBITION A. SINAI | Portugal

A. Sinai is my painter name! I do like transforming things, that is why I was kown at School as the Metaphors Girl. As far as pain`ng is concerned I was the very first painter to transform pain`ngs into jewels and this occurs in 2008, for the first `me with mandalas inspired by F. Pessoa. The second was in 2009 when I painted the Douro`s Jewel and had made the medallion corresponding in silver, stones and gold. The third was in 2010 at the exhibi`on at the Na`onal Museum Soares dos Reis, where the Jewel of Alice in Wonderland , both pain`ng and gold medallion have been a public success! Alchemy is a deep transforma`on in human beings and my pain`ngs appeal to that metamorphosis. They are provoca`ve, out of law and full of oniric imagery! They are wondertrips into the inner self! The brush is the broom; the ink, the spell and the magician creates its own rainbow full of dreams and expecta`ons whenever a painter colours the white canvas. I was 18 when I painted my first Oil on canvas and it was my self-‐portrait; which is already a metamorphosis metaphor!

Elechi Todd | Trinidad and Tobago Pure imagina`on cannot be defined, some aspects of my work maybe symbolic but are aways subject to change with every pain`ng. Defini`ons I think are meant to give people some clear view or some idea of what's being presented to them, but my art isn't to be understood like that. It's more about being felt and appreciated for it's weird and dark, but some what playful nature. The work contains a wide range of personal reflec`ons going to extremes of very intense to sombre, sober thoughts.

Emmanuel Vazquez | Mexico

I am a mexican visual ar`st, as apart of my crea`ve process I try to exalt our human nature, with no judges, invi`ng the spectator to make an exercise of honesty to find the real human being inside of us and who is constantly repressed by the society and ourselves. The base of my inspira`on is a constantly test of introspec`on, my feelings, ideas, needs and desires, and how my inner is really sa`sfied with the person I show to the society. I don’t look to plasm the beauty or the perfec`on, I elevate the imperfec`on to the first plane. I this imperfec`on I found hope, love, hate, passion, sadness, lust, life, death: humanity. Represent this humanity is my principal objec`ve, the language of my work pass to the second plane, even my mainstream is pain`ng, I found several ways of expression on installa`ons, sculpture, ready made and video art. However, I am not expec`ng to impose my point of view to the spectator, the important for me is the people understand my discourse and produce the need of revalue their personal condi`on.

Laura Colantonio | Dubai "Panta rei" Literally everything flows, meaning that everything is constantly changing, from the smallest grain of sand to the stars in the sky. Thus, every object ul`mately is a figment of one's imagina`on. Only change itself is real, constant and eternal flux, like the con`nuous flow of the river which always renews itself. "Born in 1982, I am an ar`st interested by spontaneity, my defini`on of Art is therapy, a mirror of my life. My work allowed to ques`on myself about meanings of life, but can be also a rebirth. Wri`ng and pain`ng are my tools, I love low arts, indisciplined like me. My influences are Pierre Alechinsky, Jean Dubuffet and Jean-‐Michel Basquiat. »

Natália Gromicho | Portugal

A gi|ed painter, in the purest sense, Natália has skillfully created a body of work that is simultaneously lyrical and mysterious, jubilant yet poe`c. Employing these paradoxes, she skillfully applies her raw talent into different mediums and styles crea`ng a sense of flux, depth and dominance. Natália’s work takes elemental images, from nature and the landscape to culture and individuals she encounters on her travels, and transforms using drama`c ploys such as contrasts in scale, shi|s in focus, irrored reflec`ons, staccato images, and mul`ple or layered surfaces. Sensory percep`on for Natália is a spiritual ac`vity, one that leads to a heightened awareness of both nature and culture—this thought process points to a new kind of realism— one that is engaged with the actual processes of life. Yet, it also references the theore`cal avant-‐garde concep`ons of deconstruc`on emerging during Modernism. Her work is intense, yet moving, powerful yet sensi`ve. Gathering her subjects in her field of vision, she draws on her inner world, invi`ng us to join her on a journey of discovery of the essence of being, depic`ng new truths of the meaning of existence. Drawing us into an enigma`c and luxurious world of imagina`on, seduc`on, and spirit, she creates organic shape and flowing shapely contours. Her luscious approach is inspired. Layered shapes and elegant color dis`nguish her recent body of work, executed in a strongly stylized pain`ng method. The energy and vigor of her explosive potraits haunt the viewer with a dynamic juxtaposi`on of both playful, yet eerie implica`ons.

Txemi Novoa | Spain

Txemi Novoa was born in Bilbao, Spain, in 1971, growing up in a city dominated by heavy industrial ac`vity. His ar`s`c expression was strongly condi`oned by this environment, in which the economic crisis of the 1980's destroyed the steel industries, blast furnaces, and the infrastructure of rail and mari`me transport, and le| bank of the Nervión in ruins. Within this rugged environment, Txemi Novoa demonstrated a keen curiosity about the world of art at an early age. With only 11 years of age, he had already accumulated several awards, both local and regional. His dynamic personality, and incessant ambi`on to deepen his technical and theore`cal knowledge, prepared him for a professional ar`s`c career. Furthermore, Txemi developed visual projects and remained in constant collabora`on with the different areas of the Faculty of Arts at the University of the Basque Country, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree and graduated at the top of his class. He has collaborated with the finest and most renowned Basque ar`sts, par`cipa`ng in exhibi`ons with the likes of Augus`n Ibarrola, Nestor Basterretxea, Ricardo Ugarte and Zugas`. Txemi was recently selected by Cai Guo-‐Quiang for the realiza`on of an exhibi`on at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. Txemi is in constant collabora`on with the Basque government, for the crea`on of public monuments and art projects in Northern Spain. .

Zoli Herczeg | Hungary

“GARBAGE” & “NATURE” ARE MY PAPER. IT IS A MEDITATION ON EACH IMAGE FROM MOMENTS OF THE ROAD OF AWAKENING. BASICALLY MY WORKS ARE CHARACTERIZED BY RECYCLING, AS IF WE LOOKED THE USUAL STUFF THROUGH ANOTHER DIMENSION. THE OLD ONE GETS NEW MEANING. I MAKE HANDMADE PAPER FROM OLD & BORING BOOKS, STUPID FLYERS & NEWSPAPERS. CANVASES ARE STRECHED FROM SHEET TO BE EJECTED ON. REBUILDING THE COLLAPSED SHELVES IS UNNECESSARY -‐ PAINTS FLOW ON THEM. ACTUALLY I COLOUR-‐WASH EVERYTHING ON MY ROAD. IT IS THE REINCARNATION OF THE THINGS ALIGNED WITH THE CHANGE OF MY OWN. AWALENING BY COLOURS AND BODY.
