A

s Arizona natives who grew up in Scottsdale, we evaluated all of the private communities in the area and felt that Desert Highlands had the best mix of amenities, ambiance and location. There’s also one of the country’s best tennis centers—with 13 courts and three different playing surfaces—a fitness center that looks out over the Valley, wine clubs, card games and even an 18-hole putting course. We enjoy taking our dog for strolls along the walking paths throughout the community or having a
