NOTE FROM OUR NEW EXECUTIVE OFFICER A very happy finish to 2018 and a bright and exciting start to 2019 to one and all! It has been such an adventure since starting as the new CWHBA Executive Officer this month. The Annual Membership Dinner and Legislative Update in mid-December was a great success, and our thanks to all the elected officials, board, members, sponsors, staff, and supporters for making it a hit. We’ve been meeting and learning together with the dedicated CWHBA staff team in place, as well as working with our committed Board members in planning and charting our course for the year ahead. We have a good deal on our plate and are very excited about great things we’ll be bringing you right around the corner: First, our event planning never really sleeps, and this Spring we’ll see hallmark events such as the Builder Breakfast, Home & Garden Show, Dozer Days which are all well along in the planning stages. Our Events Director, Chelsea Snodgrass, and an engaged and active Events committee is already preparing to bring and enhance these traditional CWHBA events in new ways that you won’t want to miss. Second, we will remain active and engaged in our Government Affairs outreach to ensure that the regulatory environment for home builders is not burdensome and that policies supporting greater opportunities for more homes throughout are region are supported. Our members and builders nationwide, and those who support our industry, are the single biggest economic driver for our nation’s economic health. Whether it is local zoning, code or flood map changes, or state attempts to add new burdens to independent contractors – we will engage legislators and our members, inform all about the merits of our position, and work toward successful outcomes for our membership. Third, we exist because of YOU, our amazing members. Our Membership Director Chas White is and will continue her successes in recruiting and serving the needs of our members and ensuring that they know and enjoy the many financial and other benefits of CWHBA membership. Fourth, we will continue to strengthen ourselves as an organization from the inside. We have already had great success in Board engagement and planning efforts these past six months, and we will continue to find process efficiencies in what we do as a board and as staff. The CWHBA remains a very strong voice, and presence, throughout our region and State – and all because of you and your membership. We value that commitment by you daily and we commit ourselves to continuing to bring you the active and engaged CWHBA you’ve known, and to be professional and strategic in that which we do.
