THIS SUMMER SPEND SIX WEEKS IMMERSING YOURSELF IN TRIPLE-THREAT WEST END TRAINING IN ACTING, SINGING AND DANCE IN THE HEART OF LONDON This is an intensive drama school experience guaranteed to build your skills and cement your passion for Musical Theatre.

RUNNING 24 JUNE - 2 AUGUST YOU WILL RECEIVE OVER 30 HOURS OF TRAINING A WEEK Classes run Monday to Friday with weekends and evenings free to enjoy London's culture and nightlife.

COURSE CONTENT ACTING CHARACTER

What makes a character? Using scripts and observation unpick a character's background, psychology, family and culture to understand their motivation choices and actions.

TEXT

Using plays and film scripts find out how to get the most out of using a text.

IMPROVISATION

Sharpen your reactions in free-flow sessions that unlock your creative impulse and help you inhabit a character.

SINGING 1-2-1 TUTORIAL

Your solo singing tutorials will develop individual technique and range.

ACTING THROUGH SONG

Work in small groups with a director and MD to prepare audition songs.

REPERTOIRE

Discover new songs from classic and contemporary shows in this weekly class.

ENSEMBLE

Two sessions each week will work on a range of musical theatre numbers. Sessions will focus on harmony, blend and dynamics as well as developing sight-reading skills.

VOCAL GYM

These classes improve vocal dexterity and strength.

DANCE BALLET

Essential dance training twice a week builds posture, strength, flexibility and fluidity of movement.

JAZZ (Technique)

A weekly session developing core strength, cardio-fitness and a technical dance facility.

JAZZ (Routine)

Each week learn new West End and Broadway dance routines. Hone your dance repertoire, and quicken your reactions when learning choreography.

PROJECT Spend one day each week working with a full triple-threat creative team of a director, musical director and choreographer, producing a range of musical theatre material and learning from the professionals.

WEST END THEATRE TRIPS The course includes trips to critically-acclaimed West End shows.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Applicants must be aged 18 years or over at the start of the course and must be fluent in English. We require a level of English that is approximately IELTS 6.0. It is not mandatory to have taken English language tests prior to attending this course; we recommend that for non-native English speakers that if you have not completed Level 6 IELTS then you must have the equivalent English language experience. Mountview welcomes applications from people with disabilities and is keen to support all applicants to achieve their best. ACCOMMODATION We do not have our own student accommodation at Mountview. We have a list of hotels and halls of residence that we will share with applicants.

FEES AND FUNDING The fee for this course is £3,250. Once selected, a non-returnable deposit of £250 is required to secure your place. You may then arrange to pay the remaining fee in instalments of £1,000 or £2,000 on a schedule to be determined with our team, but the whole fee must be secured no less than one month before the course begins.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS If you are not from an EU or EEA country or Switzerland, you will need to obtain a Student Visitor Visa prior to entry to the UK if you are a visa national or upon entry to the UK if you are a nonvisa national. It is each student’s responsibility to have the right documentation for study. Please note that you cannot enter the UK on a Visitor’s Visa if your intention is to study on this course. If you do not have a valid visa, you will not be allowed to study.

This weekly class will introduce you to new songs from classical contemporary shows.

1-2-1 TUTORIAL
