MOUNTVIEW – EXCELLENCE, ACCESS AND INNOVATION We are one of the UK’s top drama schools. We deliver the most pertinent training for an everchanging industry. We are committed to training the most talented people regardless of background or income. We work in collaboration with the finest established and emerging creative practitioners to create challenging new work. In 2015 we celebrated our 70th anniversary. To safeguard our future we are planning a new school and

theatre in the heart of Peckham in south London. The new home will befit the quality of our training, allow us to expand our outreach programmes and include studio and rehearsal spaces for professional and community groups. In 1930s rural Spain, newly widowed Bernarda Alba must raise five fiery daughters and care for her elderly mother. This powerful musical adaptation of Federico Garcia Lorca’s famous play comes from award-winning composer Michael John LaChiusa (Hello Again, First Lady Suite, The Wild Party). Suzy Catliff is a director, casting director, acting coach and author. Recent directing credits include: A Little Night Music (LIPA), Three Little Birds (New Diorama) and Love and Lust in Lewisham (Camden Fringe). Casting credits include Breakthrough and Primeval New World.

One of the world’s best loved children’s stories comes to life in this heart-warming musical. Orphan Anne Shirley uses her pluck and determination to find happiness in her new home at Avonlea, Nova Scotia, and makes a host of new friends along the way. Sherrill trained in Musical Theatre at the Boston Conservatory, and is currently undertaking a PhD in Actor Training for the Musical Theatre performer. Recent directing credits include: Red the Wolf Slayer! (Royal Central School of Speech and Drama), MIL-STD-1815 (George Wood Theatre, Au Brana Creative Residency). Sherrill teaches regularly at Mountivew on the MA performance programmes.

The Girton girls fight for their right to graduate in this charming and compelling play by 2016 Olivier Award winner Jessica Swale (Best New Comedy – Nell Gwynn). The women must overcome the social prejudice of Victorian Britain, which views educated women as unnatural spinsters, while fending off the distractions of student life. Jane Moriarty trained on Mountview’s Theatre Directing course and was recently a resident Assistant Director at the RSC where she assisted on Queen Anne and The Christmas Truce. Recent directing credits include Feydeau (RSC), Boxed In (Pleasance) and Dream Life of a Social Worker (Theatre 503).

Eurydice is the first democratic president of war-stricken Thebes. She promises peace to her people but cannot deliver without the aid of profiteer Theseus, and her opposition is waiting in the wings. Acclaimed dramatist Moira Buffini (Dinner, Handbagged) paints a hybrid world in which classical myth and modern day brutality intertwine. Katie Henry trained at the National Theatre Studio and the Orange Tree Theatre. She is currently Associate Director for War Horse China and recently directed and devised Alice’s House of Cards at the Southbank Centre. At Mountview she has directed Her Naked Skin and The Grandfathers.
