POSTGRADUATE SEASON 2017

WELCOME to Mountview’s Postgraduate Season 2017

Mountview is one of the UK’s top drama schools. We are proud to deliver the most pertinent training for an ever-changing industry. Our postgraduate programmes are one of the brightest jewels in our crown.

This season our PG actors and musical theatre students are grappling with big ideas and classic drama. Plays Napoli Milionaria and The Penelopiad both examine landscapes in which women are left to fend for themselves, and in musicals Jane Eyre and Pippin the titular characters are on journeys of self-discovery.

programmes: students working with colleagues across disciplines to create terrifically exciting work. To safeguard Mountview’s future we are planning a new school and theatre in the heart of Peckham, south London. The new home will befit the quality of our training, allow us to expand our outreach programmes and include studio and rehearsal spaces for professional and community groups.

Our Theatre Directors and Creative Producers are uniting once again for Catalyst, a festival of work that showcases their varied talents and demonstrates the essence of our postgraduate

You can find out more about the project on page 14.

SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS

“It is vital that we invest in the next generation of actors, musical theatre performers, directors and writers. Mountview’s bursary scheme does just that.” Dame Judi Dench, President of Mountview Mountview is committed to recruiting students regardless of their background or income. Alongside our annual auditions we partner with arts organisations across the UK, forming a national scouting network to offer free auditions to talented candidates who cannot otherwise afford to apply. Once at Mountview, half our undergraduate students receive a bursary and our Student Hardship Fund ensures that there is support available for every student who needs it. We rely on continued funding from generous individuals, Trusts and Foundations to maintain this support and ensure every student is able to complete their training.

HOW YOU CAN HELP The cost of fees, equipment and materials can be prohibitive for students. Donations of any size can help students purchase essential equipment: £20 could buy a pair of jazz shoes for a Musical Theatre student £100 could contribute towards an Acting student’s library of scripts and text books £500 could provide a graduating student with professional resources including headshots Donate today by visiting mountview.org.uk/support-us For more information contact Jessie Coller 020 8829 1078 · jessiecoller@mountview.org.uk
