kay, so take any preconceived notions you may have about Detroit … and throw them out the window! From the moment we jumped in our Uber from the airport, we learned that Detroit was far from the jobless city suffering from a down automobile industry that some people make it out to be. Instead, we experienced anything but!

We were told by locals about the history of the city

Located right in the heart of Greektown in downtown Detroit, the Atheneum Suite Hotel is appropriately named. It’s a modern, all-suite hotel with a Greek theme. We were greeted in the lobby by massive paintings of Greek mythological figures. Our suite was very spacious and it was great to have a separate area for us to work away from the bedroom. The bathroom was huge and the tub was so deep you literally had to climb out! Our room had a perfect view of the Greektown Casino. Since we didn’t have a car (Uber was our means of transportation for the trip), having our hotel located a short walk from restaurants and entertainment was a plus … we had dinner at popular restaurant Fishbones (literally next door),

drinks at Loco’s Tex-Mex Grille and lost our money at Greektown Casino! The Atheneum staff was superb and went above and beyond for us. Corey, in particular, suggested we visit the Museum of African American History and even took us there and arranged for our ride back to the hotel – even though it was after he got off work. We’d definitely stay at The Atheneum Suite Hotel when we travel to Detroit again.

Motown Museum It was hard to contain our excitement when we arrived at Grand Blvd. and saw the iconic blue and white house with Hitsville U.S.A. plastered across the front. We knew we were about to get a taste of musical history. The Motown Museum is one of those must-visit places in Detroit. So many musical legends began their careers inside that very house (Berry Gordy subsequently bought out the entire street of houses) and there is so much history in each piece of memorabilia on the inside.

The list of Motown artists seems endless – Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, The Supremes, The Jackson 5 – and that’s just scratching the surface! Our tour guide was so lively and upbeat that her spirit was infectious!

We sang and danced our way through the tour and ended with an impromptu performance in the actual recording studio (we did the Temptation Walk). After the tour, we took lots of pictures outside the house.

Jazz Fest The Detroit Jazz Festival, the largest free jazz festival, is held annually every Labor Day weekend. We were eager to cover the event as media as it allowed us front row access to snap shots and take video of the performances, and there were a lot. The festival was just a few blocks from our hotel, so we walked there, picked up our media credentials and checked out the performances. There were performances all day on five different stages. The festival is actually three days from early in the day to late at night. We couldn’t see every act, but we caught some great ones – legendary jazz great Freddy Cole was one of them! And of course we had to sample some of the festival food and drinks and visit the vendors. The Detroit Jazz Fest is a wonderful option for the entire family if you’re visiting on Labor Day – and best of all, it’s free!

Art Museums The Detroit Institute of Arts can easily rival any art museum in the big city. We had heard so many great things about it, so we made sure to allot plenty of time to explore … and it did not disappoint. There were so many mediums, genres and eras of art – wall to wall and room to room – it was very easy to get completely lost in the masterpieces. It’s also home to the famed Diego Rivera murals. We tried our best to see as much as we could. You’ll definitely need a few hours! Conveniently located in the museum is a café with a large sitting area that has numerous outlets, so we were able to eat lunch

(which was actually very good) and charge up our devices.

Just steps away from the Detroit Institute of Arts was the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. We are so glad we visited.

While cameras and photography weren’t permitted inside, it was still a profoundly deep display of history. One exhibit allows you to follow the journey of a slave, shedding a light on the harsh realities of the slave trade. It was raw, emotional and something you have to visit to comprehend.

Our words just won’t do it justice and for that reason, the Museum of African American History is another must-visit in Detroit.

was born in a small East Texas town and for the most part, I have lived life on a path that has been consistent. Perhaps it has not been consistent with what other people wanted or expected for my life, but one thing about it, it has been full of choices that I have made. The choices have been mine, as well as the consequences.

Maybe it is that I am reaching an age where my children do not need me nearly as much as when they were younger. My grandchildren are awesome little people, but they do not need me too often. My only sibling lives in Austin and his only child is about to get married.

As I talked with a friend over the weekend, he asked me to define “pampered and spoiled.” I laughed. Perhaps it is because of the many years spent as a single mom, those are words I use primarily for others and rarely for myself.

Too many times I have spent my last dime on one of my children or even on a friend. On the rare occasions that I have spent money for something I really wanted, I would lay awake at night and beat myself up over it.

It is time for a change. It is time to celebrate life and especially the amazing life that God has given to me. I want to take time to bless others, but to also enjoy things that make me smile. Time to quit living on such a strict calendar and splurge on myself.

Those of you who follow me know that if there is a great cause in need of a volunteer, I am among the first to clear my schedule and assist in any way that I can. Perhaps it is time to look at a relaxing evening filled with laughter and hugs as a great cause. Time to enjoy riding on the back of a Harley and head to Lake Charles or even plan a day to go to Austin. I have longed to take a trip to visit the Carolina Keyes.

It is time to look at the calendar and plan some “me time.” Who knows where the road will take me?

One thing I know is that life is short, so we have to live life to the fullest. Love loud. Make memories and enjoy the season.

The NMAAHC stands on four pillars: 1. It provides an opportunity for those who are interested in African American culture to explore and revel in this history through interactive exhibitions.

2. It helps all Americans see how their stories, their histories, and their cultures are shaped and informed by global influences.

3. It explores what it means to be an American and share how American values like resiliency, optimism, and spir-

development. Under Bunch’s leadership, the NMAAHC opened seven exhibitions in its gallery located in the NMAAHC. The most recent exhibit, “Through the African American Lens: Selections from the Permanent Collection,” opened May 8.

In addition, the museum’s traveling exhibition, “Changing America,” will be exhibited at 50 venues across the country through 2018. Bunch also established the program

“Save Our African American Treasures” featuring daylong workshops where participants work with conservation specialists and historians to learn to identify and preserve items of historical value.

Before his July 2005 appointment as director of the NMAAHC, Bunch served as the president of the Chicago Historical Society (2001–2005). There, he led a successful capital campaign to transform the Historical Society in celebration of its 150th anniversary, managed an institutional reorganization, initiated an unprecedented outreach initiative to diverse communities and launched a much-lauded exhibition and program on teenage life titled “Teen Chicago.”

A prolific and widely published author, Bunch has written on topics ranging from the black military experience, the American presidency and allblack towns in the American West to diversity in museum management and the impact of funding and politics on American museums. Lectures and presentations to museum professionals and scholars have taken him to major cities in the United States and many nations abroad, including Australia, China, England, Ghana, Italy, Japan, Scotland, South Africa, and Sweden.

Become Inspired & Start Living

ere we are at the time of the year where the days become shorter.

Why not become inspired to change your living space and start living with new surroundings during this season? Change in your space allows for a change in how you feel about who you are and reflects what you call home. Successful surroundings create successful minds.

What is the least favorite space in your home? Are you willing to make it your most desirable space? Create a change list, then put together a budget for your wish list. Try to accomplish minimal changes so that you will automatically feel a sense of accomplishment. How do you feel about taking one room at a time

and making an adjustment on how each room makes you feel when you enter it?

Below please find some of my quick and easy design tips.

Let's start from the floor up. Can you see yourself adjusting the way the floor looks and feels? It may be time to update. Your walls may need a new expression of color. Try using wallpaper to create patterns on walls that will warm up the space a bit. Also, think about hanging light fixtures and table lamps to make a difference to your space.

Close your eyes and see your space with a fresh set of eyes. Use rugs over rugs to create a decorative floor design or look at rugs from FLOR. Look out of your windows. Are they blocked by fabrics or shades that you still admire?

Change the color and style of window treatments. Hunter Douglas has wonderful selections.

Create kid-friendly spaces where they spend time. Try placing large and fluffy decorative pillows on the floor. Create a portrait wall of all those you love.

Visit Perimeter Gallery in Rice Village, as they are known for great frame work.

Bring the nature in your home by creating warm and inviting sections with plants or a good grade of artificial ones.

When decorating, it’s important to be true to your space. Do not be afraid to share your personality and show who you are. Be sensitive to all who share your environment. Make sure the feeling of change includes their input. Like the season, make it a time for change and become inspired.

Hugs 4 Houston: Meeting the Needs of the Community

The recent flood that affected Houston and the surrounding areas did not go unnoticed or ignored by many, and countless people provided assistance. One of the best things about Houston is that we have many members of our city with a genuine spirit of selflessness and compassion. One of those people is 17-year-old Jasmine L. Geyen. An International Baccalaureate Student at Awty International School, she founded Hugs 4 Houston, a nonprofit organization that is spreading love and providing for the needs of children in our city.

Earlier this year, the devastating flood displaced many. Seeing the impact and wanting to do something to help families affected, Hugs 4 Houston was founded.

Who doesn’t need a hug? Who doesn’t want a teddy bear? The teddy bear theme was chosen because the teddy bear gives children a sense of security, especially when unforeseen events happen. Everybody needs a hug. A hug and a teddy bear are a part of this organization, putting a smile on the faces of countless children in the area. Hugs 4 Houston has already provided 2,100 items, including teddy bears, diapers, wipes, emergency ponchos, packaged water and glow sticks.

Also, education is a large part of the organization’s mission, educating children on what to do and how to prepare when a natural disaster occurs. Many adults don’t know what to do when a natural disaster strikes, and therefore, some young people don’t know what to do. This is where Hugs 4 Houston comes in. Jasmine’s initiative is raising aware-

ness and educating our youth on how to deal with an emergency. She has been welcomed into Aldine ISD, and Hugs 4 Houston has now expanded into Houston ISD and Galena Park ISD, having educated 200 students to date. “The schools that have participated with Hugs 4 Houston have found our endeavors very helpful and they want us back in their schools,” says Jasmine.

This labor of love is not just a hobby for Jasmine and she takes Hugs 4 Houston very seriously. The organization hosts monthly events and volunteers are given community service hours for participating with Hugs 4 Houston. Seeing this organization’s selfless work, State Representative Senfronia Thompson recognized Hugs 4 Houston for being a part of a solution that is helping to better our community.

Though this was a memorable moment for Jasmine, it was also very humbling, as Jasmine doesn’t do what she does for our young people for the accolades. Jasmine expresses, “Well, first it was an unbelievable honor to be recognized by State Rep. Thompson. I had no idea that my initiatives would be recognized, nor did I start my organization for recognition. I honestly do this with the intent of helping people, not to make sure my name shows up in a Google search. The honor just confirms that the work Hugs 4 Houston does is making a positive impact.”

Jasmine is also an author. An extension of Hugs 4 Houston is her coloring book “Grizzly Bear Saves the Day,” set to be published before the end of the year. She wrote this book with the purpose of helping younger kids understand natural disasters. Moreover, this book will help them understand that community service starts at home and no matter how young you are, you can give back and be an asset to your community.

“At a young age, my parents encouraged me to accomplish my dreams.

They have always told me no dream is too big or too wild for you to make into a reality. My parents have taught me motivation, determination and prayer are the three things that make any dream or ambition come true. They instilled in me a strong belief in God,” she says. From day one, Jasmine’s parents have supported Hugs 4 Houston. They have provided her a strong foundation to help her accomplish her goals. Jasmine knows that each generation learns from the one before. It is so important that this generation build a strong foundation for the younger generation, in order to help guarantee a strong future.

A high school senior, Jasmine’s future is bright. She speaks French fluently, and she has been an equestrian hunter jumper rider since the age of 8-years-old. For her leadership, out of 650 girls, Jasmine was chosen as one of 120 selected to participate in the National Black Girls Lead program. Her other activities include cheerleading, student ambassador, Jack and Jill of America (Houston Chapter), Leaders of Tomorrow and other school clubs on campus. After she earns her undergraduate degree, she plans to attend law school and practice law as an international civil rights attorney.

This is only the beginning for Hugs 4 Houston. This nonprofit is a lifetime commitment for Jasmine, as she will continue this initiative during the course of her education and beyond. She has future goals to help children outside of Houston and expand on a national and international level. Jasmine hopes that Hugs 4 Houston will make a positive impact in Haiti before the end of this year. Hugs 4 Houston is registered with the State of Texas, and it is in the application process for the organization to be a 501(c)(3). State Rep. Senfronia Thompson Urges Students to Register and Vote

tate Representative Senfronia Thompson (D-Dist.

141) led the charge to participate in the November election in a special session, “The Time is Now: Our Voice, Our Vote.” Thompson, a TSU alumna, spoke at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law urging members of the campus community to exercise their right to vote. The event was part of Voter Registration Awareness Week organized

by TSU’s Student Bar Association.

Rep. Thompson stressed the sacrifices citizens made in order to secure the right to vote. She outlined the lengths some are taking today to keep certain segments of the popu lation from voting, including African Americans, Latinos, the elderly, and college students.

“If you have any questions, the correct information is everywhere, but go to the Secretary of State’s website and it provides all the information you need to make sure your vote is counted,” Thompson said. She provided information about the range of identification items that will be considered acceptable forms of I.D. for voting.

“This election is not just about Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump. It’s about the Supreme Court,” she said. “The next president has a chance to appoint up to four new Supreme Court justices, individuals who will shape your lives for the next 25-35 years.”

Rep. Thompson shared stories about her time on campus as a law student and activist, but focused the lion’s share of her remarks on the present, calling on students to get registered and go to the polls on Tuesday, November 8.

TMSL Interim Dean Dr. James Douglass introduced Thompson and lamented the lack of young people involved in the political process. “The average age of voters in Harris County is 68 years old, that means young people aren’t voting,” he said.

“Student voting is down and Rep. Thompson is coming to rally students to vote,” said Susan Bynam, TMSL Assistant Dean for Institutional Advancement. “This event is to encourage students to not only register to vote, but to vote come Election Day.” Voter Registration Awareness Week was coordinated with Student Bar Association and the League of Women Voters. Over 100 students registered to vote after the event.

I want to be happy with myself and my life. I want to live my life to the fullest, enjoying each moment.

I choose to live life passionately and with purpose. This is what I desire for my family, friends and for your life. Yes, I want it for you, but it’s only you who must make the decision to live your best life now.

After my 13 year marriage ended, I held on to the unhappy memories and told them as often as I could to anyone who would listen to the sad story. Each time I told those stories, I relived it and it brought pain and suffering. One day, my friend gave me a wake-up call and said, “Stella, what does that matter in your life today?

You are out of it. Stop living in the pain of the past. Live in the present and look forward to the future!” Her words shocked me and caused me to open my eyes to what I was doing to myself.

How do you move forward and step into change?

• Forgive yourself for holding on to unhappiness manifested from something that happened years ago. Learn from the negative and let it educate you.

• Forgive the person who hurt you. You will find freedom in that action.

• Decide to do and say things that make you and the people around you happy. Let God fight your battles and you won’t be scared.

• Let go of past memories that were hurtful.

• Start living life with passion!

Some of us hold on to a painful past that is dead and gone. It cannot hurt us anymore unless we mentally stay in that season. There are others who hold on to the past and use it to beat down their spouse, family member or friend. It’s in the past. It cannot touch you today. It only exists in your mind if you don’t release the memory.

The Survivors with Voices Foundation: Helping Survivors Heal the Wounds That Can’t Be Seen

he truth is we all don’t look like what we’ve been through. Though she may not look like it, Alissa R. Jones is a survivor of sexual abuse and brokenness. She has gone through unspeakable things that many others have gone through, but do not have a safe haven to talk it out and release it. This is one of the reasons why Jones founded the Survivors with Voices Foundation.

Though the healing process was not easy for Jones, over time and with the love of God, she is now a survivor with a voice.

Through her book “The Stones That Built Me Strong” and this foundation, she is empowering people around the country to go from victims to survivors.

Survivors with Voices recently held their annual event themed “The Unapologetic Truth.”

This year’s event continued the organization’s tradition of empowerment, healing, authenticity and courage. The conference brought people together from all over the country to hear speakers share their truth with no apologies. Positivity was poured into attendees, with a clear message not to be ashamed of your truth and be unapologetic about it. This year also brought star power, with Bravo TV stars Jewel and Cyrene Tankard of “Thicker Than Water.” Cyrene shared her powerful story of surviving sexual assault. Because Jones knows that some men are just as broken as women, needing healing from the past, male survivors also spoke on their truth of surviving abuse and pains of the past. It was all about truth on living each day with a mindset to survive past hurt and pains.

If attendees came with a victim mindset, they definitely left with a heart to start the healing process.

The event ended with a gala honoring and celebrating survivors, including media personality JJ on the Mic from 97.9 The Box and others in Houston and around the nation. Entertainment included Briana “Bri” Babineaux and Freje Randall.

The Survivors with Voices Foundation provides support, mentorship and counseling to help men and women overcome the seen and unseen scars that come with an abusive past or recent tragic situation. Jones looks to help, motivate and inspire others to overcome, forgive and heal. The foundation provides continuous supportive services for its members, helping men and women heal on a national level, with chapters around the country holding regular meetings.

What Does That REALLY Mean?

here are so many phrases that we have heard growing up, but do we really know the meaning?

How many times have you heard your mom or grandma say, “He’s no spring chicken?” We’ve all heard these types of phrases growing up but had no idea what they meant.

Below are some familiar phrases and their meanings. Enjoy as we take you back!

Phrases & Meanings Phrase: A Daniel come to judgement Meaning: Someone who makes a wise judgement about something that has previously proven difficult to resolve.

Origin: This phrase doubtless alludes to the Biblical character Daniel, who was attributed with having fine powers of judgement. In Daniel 5:14 (King James Version) we have: “I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.”

Phrase: A feather in one's cap Meaning: A symbol of honour and achievement.

Origin: The placing of a feather in a hat has been a symbol of achievement

that has arisen in several cultures, apparently independently. The English writer and traveller Richard Hansard recorded it in his Description of Hungary, 1599: "It hath been an antient custom among them [Hungarians] that none should wear a fether but he who had killed a Turk, to whom onlie yt was lawful to shew the number of his slaine enemys by the number of fethers in his cappe." The Native American tradition of adding a feather to the head-dress of any warrior who performed a brave act is well known.

Meaning: A modern-day proverb, bemoaning the difficulty of finding a suitable male partner.

Origin: This phrase was coined

by Eddie Green, as the title of his song A Good Man Is Hard To Find. This was composed in 1918 and first offered for sale as a piano roll in the Fort Wayne JournalGazette on 12th December that year (just in time for Christmas - a bargain at 90 cents): A good man is hard to find You always get the other kind Just when you think that he is your pal You look for him and find him fooling 'round some other gal Then you rave, you even crave To see him laying in his grave So, if your man is nice, take my advice and hug him in the morning, kiss him ev'ry night, Give him plenty lovin', treat him right For a good man nowadays is hard to find, a good man nowadays is hard to find.

Phrase: A fly in the ointment Meaning: A small but irritating flaw that spoils the whole.

Origin: These days ointments are chiefly for medicinal use - just the thing for rubbing on that nasty rash. In earlier times, ointments were more likely to be creams or oils with a cosmetic or ceremonial use. Literally, ointment was the substance one was annointed with.

There is considerable annointing in Bible stories and it isn't surprising therefore that this phrase has a biblical origin.

Ecclesiastes 10:1 (King James Version) has: "Dead flies cause the ointment of

Our contempary phrase 'the fly in the ointment' didn't appear until later. The earliest example I have found in print of that precise wording is in John Norris' A Practical Treatise Concerning Humility, 1707: 'Tis that dead fly in the ointment of the Apothecary.

Meaning: Calm and unruffled.

Origin: Cool here means imperturbable rather than having a low temperature. Cucumbers are cool to the touch.

First recorded in John Gay's Poems, New Song on New Similies, 1732: "I ... cool as a cucumber could see The rest of womankind."

Athletes like Michael Phelps, Nathan Adrian, Ryan Lochte, Simone Manuel and Katie Ledecky have paved the way for massive growth across the sport - USA Swimming claims more than 300,000 compete in nearly 2,800 teams stretching across the U.S. While all parents agree swimming is important, selecting the right swim school can be confusing. To make sure your kids are developing crucial water safety and swimming skills, consider these seven important swim school questions.

1. How young can kids start swim lessons?

Starting young is best. Swim lessons start for kids 4-months-old at Life Time Fitness. The organization promotes getting kids in the water before their first birthday because they remember the water environment from the womb, which lays a great foundation for learning to swim and love the water. However, avoid swimming with infants before 3 months due to their underdeveloped immune system.

2. How frequently should kids take lessons?

The most effective way for children to learn to swim is to do lessons on a con-

tinual basis. This is typically once or twice a week. This consistency helps children regularly build on their skills without pause when learning loss can occur. While summer serves as a reminder of the importance of swim lessons, signing up for lessons yearround ensures your kids don't regress over winter.

3. What is a good swimmer-toinstructor ratio?

It's important that there are not too many swimmers per teacher in each class. A ratio of 3:1 is good for introlevel swimmers and a ratio of 4-6:1 is good for intermediate or higher levels.

There never should be more than 6:1 no matter what the age.

4. How long should the class be?

For beginners, 30 minute classes

are appropriate. This is enough time to focus on skills but not too much so they get tired or lose interest. For more experienced swimmers, classes can be up to 45 minutes.

5. How do you evaluate a good program?

A good guideline is that kids should be active 90 percent of the time during class. Great programs use in-water platforms to shorten the distance of a full-length pool. Quality instructors will be energetic and excite kids.

Communication should be a top priority. For example, Life Time Fitness instructors communicate each child's progress at the end of each month.

We let the parent and child know which skills they have mastered and move them on to the next level when

they are ready, instead of waiting for the end of a session.

6. How long will it take my kid to learn how to swim?

Every child varies, however, you should see progress every month (or approximately every 2 hours of lessons). Keep in mind, if you are not consistent with classes, you can't expect improvement.

7. What should the pool temperature be?

A pool that is too cold can be distracting and impede a child's ability to swim. Water temperature should be at least 86 degrees with a similar air temperature. Additionally, facilities should be clean and there should not be a strong chlorine smell in the air. – BPT

Victory in the Holy Spirit

tiny will always require one to make a decision. What decision is staring you in your face? Is it about your education, career, associations, relationships, attitude, thinking, habits or hang ups? Does the fear of change have you chained to the comfortable, convenient or certain? You are one decision away.

One can only imagine the fear that gripped Abram when he faced the change. A decision had to be made to accept the change needed to reach his destiny. Fear could not be allowed to chain him to the present and you cannot either. Destiny is waiting.

Abram broke the chain of fear and took the journey. Because he made the decision to change, he became the father to many nations. You can do likewise to reach your destiny.

The time for change is now!

describing our intimacy in Christ. This intimacy is very enduring. It is so rich and indwelling, that he refers to our relationship with God as “Abba, Father.”

Paul also refers to this in Galatians 4:6-7. “And because you are sons… your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”

Therefore you are … a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”

We are family! But not only a family, but a royal family with the rights and power entitled to all who are members.

The Spirit gives us this testimony and reaffirms this fact within us!

Where is this victory?

The end of Romans 8:17 tells us, “… that we may be glorified together!” This is the victory. Understand something.

This victory did not start with the Holy Spirit. It was started in Jesus Christ.

1Corinthians 15:57 reads, “ B u t thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Question! What is this victory from?

Sin and Death!

Romans 8:2, “For the…Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from… sin and death.” Romans 6:22, “… having been set free from sin… you have your fruit to holiness, and…everlasting life.”

This is our victory! This is our legacy!

Because this is our legacy, we possess it 100% of the time as victory was given to us at the point of our salvation.

Now let’s tie the foundation our sonship and relationship together to our victory!

Look at 1 John 5:4-5, “For…this is the victory that has overcome the world—

omans 8:14-17 reads “For you did not receive the spirit of bondage…, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’ The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ… that we may also be glorified together.”

Paul is confirming the fact that the Holy Spirit resides within in each of us, making us sons or children of God. But to drive his point further, he didn’t stop at just children, but went on to call us heirs and joint heirs with Christ. Paul is

our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” John is tying the victory that is ours to our faith. Even though we have received this victory through Christ, we still have to do our part, and our part is to believe.

As a result, we realize that victory is not something that we move towards after a long hard fight as a possible prize.

It is something that we already posses.

Victory and faith are one and the same.

But the problem lies in the fact that not all believers realize what our judicial or legal standings are in Christ. We are not exercising our rights!

Victory through the Holy Spirit is a sure thing. It is something that when faced with certain obstacles, struggles or challenges, we must realize that the Holy Spirit has us in His victory through Christ, making us victorious right from the start.

I am not saying that we will not be burdened with sorrow or pain as a result of challenges or situations, but we need to believe that as we go through them, Jesus Christ will see us through. This allows us to give him praises and thanksgiving all throughout whatever it is that God has us going through.

You are kings! You are priests! You are heirs! You are victorious!
