Message From the President & CEO President Barack Obama said it best, “…I am going to press on.” This quote from President Obama could not be more fitting for this d-mars.com awards event which is a tradition to celebrate Black History Month. Pressing on and moving forward is what we as African-Americans have done for years, and today is no different. In life, if you want to be successful, moving forward through difficulties is the name of the game. There are no rewards for those who stop when times get tough. Though d-mars.com highlights the accomplishments of African-Americans throughout the year, the Top 50 Black Professionals and Entrepreneurs is an extension of our highlighting African-Americans in various areas of business. It is not an easy journey to the top, and though tonight’s honorees did have their share of obstacles, they did not give up or make excuses. They pressed on, and now they are receiving great rewards. These honorees are where they are today because they continued to move forward. To be able to recognize the Top 50 Black Professionals and Entrepreneurs is a privilege and an honor for the d-mars.com family. We will always be known as the media company that is a vital platform for African-Americans to receive that deserving spotlight. Not only are these honorees respected in their fields, but also in the communities that they serve. They know that if it wasn’t for the communities that raised them, they would not have that strong foundation that has made them stellar in their careers.

MR. D-MARS “The future rewards those who press on. I don’t have time to feel sorry for myself. I don’t have time to complain. I’m going to press on.” – President Barack Obama

To all of the honorees, we thank you for representing greatness. We thank you for not only being great in your professions, but for also being great in paying it forward in the community and to the next generation. You have given us a reason to aim higher. You have shown us that there are no excuses, and if you want something in life, you can have it with hard work and perseverance. I want to encourage you that although you have made great accomplishments, continue to strive for more. This is just the beginning, and there is so much more that I know you will achieve. You make us proud. Continue to make history. Tonight is about you. Congratulations, and you all are deserving. Sincerely, MR. D-MARS President & CEO d-mars.com TOP 50 BLACK P&E 2017

Message from Chief Operating Officer Each professional and entrepreneur we celebrate in this directory understands their role as a dream builder. A dream builder is not some omnipotent entity; the ability to build dreams lies within us all. Our community is full of corporate executives, entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders – those who understand success does not happen overnight. It is a continuous progression, which involves sacrifice and determination to endure the valleys along the journey. Ms. Kimberly Floyd

“Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us.”

Dream builders understand that a valley is not a failure or the end, but a lesson to build upon for the next endeavor. We only have to delve deeper and possess the fortitude to persevere to reach greatness. We salute our professionals and entrepreneurs for their strength and courageousness in being real-life dream builders. Ms. Kimberly Floyd Chief Operating Officer

Accompanied by a fresh, colorful mix of contemporary R&B, gospel, rock, folk and spoken word, Wilson’s melodic tenor passionately expresses joy, love, self-doubt, grace, empowerment, victory and—above all—inspiration. The spare yet fervent track also unwittingly laid the foundation for Wilson’s Motown Gospel debut. The message and feel of “Worth Fighting For” clearly connected to listeners as it was the most heard song in 2015 on Gospel Radio and spent 36 weeks in the Top 5 on the Gospel Radio charts.
