Anative Houstonian, Pastor Terrance H. Johnson, frequently referred to as Pastor J, is known throughout the country as a premier preacher with extraordinary gifts in biblical exposition, interpretation, and proclamation. He is a graduate of American Baptist College in Nashville, TN where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Sociology. In early 1997, Pastor Johnson received a call from God to organize Higher Dimension Church. Then on April 4, 1999, Higher D and its 29 founding members held its first worship service. Over 500 individuals were present to witness this monumental celebration! Since its inception, God has continued to enlarge Higher D’s territory at a phenomenal rate not only in numbers but also reaching the community through outreach programs and various ministries. A true visionary for change, Pastor Johnson has implemented what he refers to as a “5 Fold Vision.” The first phase includes the sanctuary at 9800 Club Creek. The second is Pastor J Ministries, which provides audio and video resources as well as scholarships to high school seniors in pursuit of higher education, and the third phase is NXL Inc., the community redevelopment arm. This faithbased initiative will provide family living, recreation, career development, and counseling. The fourth phase provides internal as well as external business consulting services, and lastly, the implementation of Higher Learning Academy which is an educational facility providing Christian Education for children (pre-school through 12th grade). God has also blessed Higher D with the D-Spot facilities - a recreational facility for our youth which houses the Office of Community Development (OCE) a grant program purposed to assist at risk HIV youth. In terms of family, Pastor is blessed to have found and married the love of his life, First Lady Torsha Johnson. First Lady Torsha Johnson First Lady Torsha Johnson, affectionally known as Lady J, is spiritually gifted in leading women to the heart of God. Lady J, is committed to building a vibrant, God-honoring ministry alongside her husband; an enormous challenge, but one which she has whole-heartedly embraced by developing and nurturing dynamic women’s ministries. While pursuing her Psychology degree at the University of Houston, the vision of “URL” aka “You are Loved” was birthed. URL’s seeks to bring awareness & assistance to the prostitution that exists in the Westwood community & surrounding areas of Houston. URL exist to offer the women & children who prostitute and sex traffic an opportunity to leave that lifestyle behind and embrace a new life through Christ Jesus. She wants them to know that Jesus loves & accepts them just as they are & transformation begins with a sincere relationship with Him. The Johnsons are the proud parents of four adorable children, Terrance, Thailan, Theophilus, and Tirzah.
