A Life Of Purpose
On November 12, 1962, James and Carrol Dixon, Sr., were blessed with their first of four children. They named him James Wallace Edwin Dixon, II. He would be the grandson of an esteemed Baptist minister, Rev. C.D. Dixon and of a successful business owner, Titus Barnes. Both grandmothers, Velma Dixon and Victoria Barnes were Christian educators and missionaries. From birth, James was nurtured by people, great values, virtues, and vision. James has been married to Tanisha Chenier since September 14, 2002. They have three beautiful children, Mariah Nicole Brown, Victoria Elyse and James W.E. Dixon, III. He is highly respected in the Houston Community and in the nation as a man of vision whose leadership gifts and skills have even proven to be beneficial to scores of religious, civic and business organizations. James was educated in Houston area public schools. Upon high school graduation, James was accepted and entered Houston Baptist University. He also attended Texas Southern University. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Oikodome College of Biblical Studies in 2003. James has studied extensively in pursuit of a Masters of Divinity Degree at Houston Graduate School of Theology. James Dixon, II has received numerous awards from an array of public officials including, several Houston Mayors, U.S. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee, Congressman Al Green, State Rep. Al Edwards, and State Rep. Sylvester Turner. He has also been recognized by national organizations such as the N.A.A.C.P., Reverend Jesse Jackson and the Rainbow P.U.S.H., and Reverend Al Sharpton and the National Action Network.
