Norris Aikens was born and raised in Detroit Michigan; he attended Detroit Public Schools and Wayne State University. Norris began his business career as an entrepreneur, where he founded Central Wood Products, Inc. which manufactured and distributed ethnic hair care products nationally. By the early 1980’s Norris had taken his expertise to the retail automotive industry as a salesman, business and finance manager, and eventually became a principal of Plainfield Lincoln Mercury in Grand Rapids Michigan. Aikens’ financial experience began in the auto industry as a retail finance manager and later in financing the purchase of the auto franchise. Upon the sale of the auto franchise, Aikens went on to work as general manager of West Michigan’s largest volume General Motors dealer. In 1997 Norris employed his expertise in sales and consumer finance in a vastly different industry. It was at this time Norris entered the mortgage banking world as a loan officer at Heartwell Mortgage Corp. (West Michigan’s largest privately owned mortgage bank). While employed at Heartwell Norris was blessed to earn the trust and respect of senior management, being rapidly promoted within the company. By February, 2000 Norris was named Director of Bridge Financial Corp. Bridge was founded as the community development arm of Heartwell allowing Norris to deliver mortgage financing services to a largely underserved community. As director of Bridge Financial, Norris was successfully responsible for establishing satellite branch offices. He organized, staffed, and opened four additional locations across southern Michigan. Norris presently holds the position of Executive Loan Specialist for Blue Sky Lending in the Texas market. Norris is experienced in underwriting, processing, and auditing as well as government compliance. These skills guarantee Norris’ ability to deliver superior services to all seeking his assistance in financing homes they wish to purchase, build, or refinance.
