THANK YOU

The Lieutenant Governor, Hello Polar Bears! I am glad to see how many Key Clubbers there is this year! I know fall comes around and begins to get stressful for all of us, so I just wanted to remind you of a few things. Remember to give yourself a break once in a while, whether that’s from homework or Key Club. Make sure you give yourself credit and celebrate the things you have done. Lastly, do not forget to pay your dues; otherwise, you cannot join me at Fall Rally and that would just make me sad. Email me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns at d06s.cnhkc.ltg@gmail.com. Stay cool Polar Bears! Roaring with SERVICE, Lieutenant Governor Erica Apostolos P.S. I hope all the seniors are getting their college applications together!

WRITTEN BY: NAM NGUYEN, CHAPARRAL Division 6 South held an end of the summer car wash for Pediatric Trauma Program on August 30, 2014 at Sides Auto Repair. Leticia Martinez said “Although I could not stay too long, the car wash was a fun experience! My favorite part was when I held up signs with my friends on the intersections. We sang songs and did some crazy dance moves to encourage passing cars to stop by our car wash.” Crystal Chhan agreed; she exclaimed that “The car wash was such a blast! There were a lot of cars and we had great teamwork. Despite the heat, it was fun and there was a great turnout!” I have to admit, this was actually my first division car wash that I’ve been to and I had a great time! Even though it was over 90 degrees, everyone who came out worked hard while having fun! Despite the complications in the beginning, we endured them and ended up raising $271 for PTP. It amazes me how amazing teenagers can be.

Since August was finally here, everyone knew the start of school had concluded our adventurous summer break. The beginning of school meant club rush again. At Chaparral High School, lunch is slightly extended so clubs have a sufficient amount of time to promote what their club is and articulate what their club has for students to offer. For Chaparral’s Key Club, the officers put together two informative posters consisting of past funfilled events and service projects such as Fall Rally, the past Region 4 Olympics, OTC, and RTC as well as when and where Key Club meets during lunch. At club rush the brochures were offered to those that were interested to give them an insight of what Key Club is meanwhile the officers answered any curious questions students had. Another way Chaparral’s Key Club drew attention was asking various officers, “How do you feel?” and enthusiastically, the officers shouted back the legendary cheer, drawing countless amount of eyes on to that officer. Overall, Chaparral’s Key Club was very successful during club rush and had over 130 sign ups!

Club of the month

Heritage Heritage had 100+ sign ups at their club rush. Not only that but every weekend has had non-stop service events. Keep doing what you’re doing Key Clubbers!

Officer of the month Elizabeth Lanuzo from Temecula Valley Elizabeth, this month, has been great Key Clubber. She just goes that extra mile, asking if she can do more and overall being a big help.

Member of the month Brian Plain from Chaparral Brian is new to the Key Club family and has been consistently dedicated to attending a majority of the recent division events and Chaparral club meetings. He also has been a helping hand to one of the Chaparral officers. Keep it up!

Cierra Myers Cierra was a great help at the division car wash. Not only did her positive, bubbly attitude help attract customers, but she contributed a majority of the supplies that made the car wash even possible. Thank you Cierra!
