Challenge of the Month August 2014 “I went to Vietnam to reunite with my mother's side of the family and spent a whole month there living in the Vietnamese urban city of Nha Trang. It was beautiful with the beach, the spas, and the tourist attractions, but the most memorable part of Nha Trang was the food. The family restaurants over there serve the best authentic homemade meals for a very cheap price. The plane rides to and from Vietnam were just breathtaking. I got to fly over dozens of landscapes and see dawn and dusk right before my eyes. When I got home, unfortunately, I was bombarded with my A.P.E.U.R.O homework. I reunited with my friends at a pool party and key clubbers at the Region 4 Olympics/DCM! All in all, my summer was amazing because I learned the value of family in various ways and rediscovered my ambitions for my next years of high school.� -Yen Nguyen / Heritage High School
One of the most exciting things I did this summer (aside from binge-watching Arrow SHOUT OUT TO MY ARROW FANATICS #TEAMARROW) was going on adventures around San Diego with my cousins. I don't visit San Diego much, so this 3-day trip was very exciting! We went to Up2You cafe, Lucha Libre Taco Shop, Baked Bear, Tapioca Express, and KBBQ! My favorite had to be Up2You because you can add all sorts of toppings to your dessert .We also walked a total of 4 around Belmont Park, Mission Bay Beach, and Pacific Beach.
