d7s members at an annual neighborhood event

During the annual Elk Grove June Picnic on Saturday, June 8th, Key Clubbers from throughout the division were called to assist with the event and helped with a number of different tasks. At the start of the shift, we set up tables and canopies in order to prepare for the event. Later, we were distributed a variety of jobs which included helping pack and serve thefood, managing thefoodtable, watching over the bouncy house, coordinating children’s games, and more! Along with a group of other people, I helped to manage the food station, andsincethiswas a potluck style event, I made sure to keep the food organized and the tables clean. While working, I was able to experience the entertainment attheeventsuchas a water balloon fight, tug of war,a live entertainer, a potato sack race, and more! After the event settleddown, allvolunteershelped to tear down the event efficiently. Overall, the event was a great experience for me and other Key Clubbersalike.

volunteers

setting up an annual fundraising event

On a hot summer day, June 22nd, I joined American River Parkway fortheirannual Summer Solstice set-up! With the arrival, there was a group of volunteers foldingnapkins whichIstartedoff my shift with folding napkins. It did not require as much as techniqueandI enjoyedfolding it like I was doing origami. Following other volunteers, I was assigned to set up tables by putting table cloth, forks, and plates. Forks and other utensils were metal which was hot from the sun, however it was worth doing as other volunteers encouraged each other and reminded each other to take waterbreaks. Reaching the end ofmyshift,Iwasabletoremind myself of the fun aspect of volunteering and overall I was able to spend great time with peopleparticipatingintheevent set-up!
