Coral Pongsuwan Historian | Bellflower October 10th was World Mental Health Day, in which Bellflower Key Club created a service event to motivate and uplift friends and loved ones. Members created info-graphics to inform people about mental health, as well as tips on how to care for one’s well being. Thank you to everyone who was able to participate, and hopefully your creations can change someone’s mindset.

Khomsan Liamkrajang Webmaster | Bellflower On October 23rd, members of Bellflower Key Club attended Olive Crest Fall Fest, one of the first in person service events in a while! Our members gave a helping hand by setting up and directing traffic. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve in person and are excited for future opportunities that present themselves. Thank you to everyone who considered attending!

Emily Uy Historian | Wilson On the 17th of October, Wilson had its first physical service event in months. The beach clean took place at Seal Beach. Members were able to pick up trash and be socially distant from each other. Mask was a requirement which everyone followed. Members were provided gloves, trash bags, and a trash picker to pick up the trash across the beach. This event was successful, everyone was able to meet in person while helping our planet by picking up trash off our nice beaches.

Sarah Do Member | Gahr On October 30th I supported Gahr High School Key Club by going to Halloween Social! During the event we celebrated Spooky-season with fun little activities and games. As for activities, we all got the chance to put forth our creative minds and make our very own origami ghosts! We also played this one game called Soulmate where we were able to not only have fun but get to know each other too. In addition, we all had the ability to participate in a Lovebox, which is where you anonymously send out compliments to anyone of your choice in the meet! This was my favorite activity and was a great way for us to spread smiles across each other’s faces :). I really appreciate the club cabinet’s efforts in making sure members are happy and having fun. That being said, this social event really helped me form bonds with other club members and I found it extremely welcoming.

Maryland Heng Executive Assistant | Polytechnic The event started off with us setting up many tables across the whole parking lot and decorating them with streamers and balloons! We then made posters in order to direct the drivers on where they have to go for the drive thru. Many cars started to come in and donate different goods for our unicef and kiwanis family donations drop off. We were able to greet families of our very own members and offer them our candy goodie bags. Me and the other volunteers had a good time talking to our fellow bellflower kiwanians, starting a bond with them during our breaks. It’s been awhile since we’ve had a in-real life service event and this was honestly an amazing experience!

Michelle Lork Historian | Mayfair For the month of October, Division 13 South participated in Region's 8 SailoRTC! The region training conference provided an overview of how to handle tasks as an officer as well as a member! Members and officers throughout Region 8 were able to become closer while learning the important duties they can play within Key Club International. During this conference, Region 8 showed their contribution to service by making cards to donate to UNICEF. These cards paved a way of providing methods to contribute to the community during the SPOOKY season!

Ronald Ourng Historian | Sato Last month we had our escape room joint DCM with Division 13 North! For most newbees this was their first division event, and it was a blast to see so many new members. Additionally, it was a great opportunity to meet new people from outside of the division. On top of discussing old business and new business, members were able to participate in ice breakers and additionally an fun story-lined escape room, finding answers from all over the internet, which for each answer would give a letter, spelling out a word in the end to escape!
