FRN 2016 | BEST FRN EVER!!
"DIVISION 26 NORTH, HOW DO YOU FEEL?!" Hello hello you hot Red Devils! October has been a spook-tacular month, and I am so happy for all of your hard work and dedication into this organization even with ACTs, SATs, college apps, and more. I am incredibly grateful being able to serve all of you. My dreams came true, all because of YOU! Region Training Conference had a total of 26 attendees from our Division. I hope you all learned TONS, got new followers on Instagram and Snapchat, learned some new cheers, and relaxed a bit. Although it can be difficult to not be in the loop 24/7 because we had no service, I hope you took this opportunity to learn something new about yourself and new friends. Fall Rally North was surreal. I never expected to stand on that stage and see you all sizzling and hawt-ing in a sea of red. Thank you to all of you for attending the FRN Socials, watching our FRN cheer videos, and raising money to reach our $5K goal. It's not about winning the spirit stick, it's about making a real difference in children's lives. Thank you for all that you do! I love you for reading this far :) - Wencie Hoang

Thank you to all 26 Red Devils who attended Region 9 & 17's Region Training Conference from October 1st-2nd at Camp Jones Gulch in La Honda, CA. I had tons of fun learning more about our Kiwanis family, ways to fundraise, increase our service hours, meet new friends, take beautiful pictures, and take a breather with no cellular service. My favorite moment would be the campfire. Seeing everyone light up the night was a beautiful moment to see, for it really encompassed the "ohana" in Key Club. Thank you for making this the best RTC for me! -LTG Wencie
October DCM
Sunday, October 2nd Camp Jones Gulch La Honda, CA
At this month's DCM, we had club officers go over everything they did in the month of September by acting out a skit. Since these Animators of Service were such professionals with creating skits, from the campfire, they were to act out their monthly service events. It was great to see, and very funny too. -LTG Wencie

CLUB REPORTS
ANTIOCH Antioch High School Key Club members are working together to keep our community clean and even more beautiful than ever at the Antioch Coastal Cleanup. It was a fun, heartwarming event that would bond us each closer together as the event went on and end with beautiful friendships and a beautiful Coastline as our members made diligent and thorough efforts to make sure it was rid of trash and substances potentially harmful to the environment. We hope for more amazing opportunities like this to invite members and students out to leave our K.E.Y impression on the community.
MOUNT DIABLO "The National Public Lands Day was held in Mt. Diablo where the service event was a clean up around the area. We had about several members show up to this event and for some it was their first event and got them more interested in the volunteer events we do for Key Club. For exapmle one of our members, Diana Criley a Freshman, said “During the Mount Diablo clean-up event, I helped clean up the fire pits with other people. Other than that, I met a few people who were from other parts of the Bay Area. I enjoyed a lot from the event like meeting new people and talking some members from Key Club, since it was my first time talking to most of them.” The Donate for Life 5k and 10k walk and run was held in Walnut Creek at Heather Farms. We had about 10 new members attend this event and all of our officers were present. At this event we cheered for the people who participated in the event and provided water for them. One of our new members, Joseph Co, said “At the donate life walk in Walnut Creek we cheered people on while they ran their 10k/5k run. We motivated people and guided people to the direction of the finish line. What I enjoyed the most while volunteering at the walk was being able to cheer people on as they were running and or walking.” This was another fun event for us and our members to bond at. The Tricycle Run was held in Brentwood and a couple of our Freshmen members attended as well as two of our officers. A Freshman from our club named, Izaak Iriqat, said “What I liked about the Bicycle event in Brentwood was that I got to see all these people have a huge smile on there face as well as hang out with my cousins for a little while.” This event was a really good event for our Freshmen to attend for their first service event and inspired them to bring their friends during the next service event.
CONCORD
The Run of Color is an event put together by the CHS senior class, and this is its second year running. For volunteering, they provided two shifts, one in the morning for set-up, selling shirts, and giving out breakfast, and one for people to stand along the route, throwing colored powder and directing runners, or selling food and water. We even had some volunteers from other schools, and they all seemed to have so much fun! The Alzheimer's Walk event was, at first, provided for volunteers throughout the whole run, but later on, they asked that Key Club volunteers show up just to help clean up. Without an issue, we arrived to help put away tables and chairs, break down tents and flags, and even take down a huge balloom arc. As thanks, they provided two shirts for each volunteer, and free lunch and cupcakes. While we were not able to help with the actual event's runthrough, the people behind the event really appreciated our help.
