Hello Red Devils! After an entire year of amazing newsletters (created by our amazing, unforgettable Division News Editor, Desiree Choe), it's an incredibly bittersweet feeling addressing this to you all, knowing that it will be the very last time I'll be doing so.
Throughout the past year, you have served together, cheered together, and shared precious experiences with each other that will hopefully last a lifetime. Your undying appreciation and compassion for your homes, schools, and communities have been unexplainable. With just a few days left in this incredible term, I want to say one last time just how proud I am of your work. I am the most blessed Lieutenant Governor in all of Key Club International, and it's because of your undying love for service that keeps me going every day. It's been an absolute honor serving as Division 26 North's Lieutenant Governor serving as YOUR Lieutenant Governor - and I will never forget it. One last time, burning with service,
Leon Pan Lieutenant Governor 20132014
Hi Red Devils!
EA
—LTG ELECT—
“I can't believe that this is the last month until we start a new term. This year has gone by so fast. I'm so proud of everything we have accomplished together as a division. This year, we've raised an impressive amount of money for charity, showed everyone the sizzling Red Devils within us, and of course, racked up tons of service hours! I want to thank everyone for this term, because it lets me know that I'll be able to lead an amazing group of people in only a matter of time. “
Jennifer Lam
“Don't forget to attend the DCM this month so we can prepare everyone for the new term! DCON is coming up fast, and I'm excited! Are you? It’s
YOUR GOLDEN TICKET. What legacy will you leave behind? Let's end this year with a bang! (And start off the next time with a spark!)”
“Red Devils! It has been an HONOR to serve you for my 2014-2015 term as your executive assistant. It literally feels like yesterday when I heard that I got this position, and this term has been nothing but greatness. Thank you for sparking my motivation and inspiration for Key Club and being a part of our awesome D26 ohana. No one's got it better than us, right?”
Vivian Chong
EA
“I will dearly miss all the seniors graduating this year, but I am just as excited for next year's Key Club, in hopes of seeing many new faces, as well as the old (not literally old... but you guys know what I mean). I hope to see many of you at DCON, and all the way until the end of the school year and more. Thank you, Red Devils.”

We've been getting our new batch of officers ready for next term by showing them the steps. During The Past Month, the major event we participated in was the March Creek Watershed Project, which took place on March 8th from 9am to noon. It was a project that was aimed at restoring the Sand Creek, planting new trees, and cleaning up the Creek, which is what our club participated in!
COLLEGE PARK Monica Willemsz, President
ANTIOCH Chun Leung, President
Key clubbers from College Park have been busy this month with planning and attending events. We have participated in the neon run, volunteering at the food bank, and helping children in the challenger little league. Our volunteering hours have surpassed 1000 hours and we are striving to help even more. Hosting last month's DCM was wonderful and we have several fundraisers and socials planned for the upcoming month including a movie night and possible benefit concert.
—CONCORD— Vanessa Martinez, V.P Our main focus this month has been change! Our club is trying to rejuvenate itself to become the best it can be for the rest of the term. We have found new service events, such as plenty of 5k runs. Right now keeping every one interested is our goal. We helped out at Jog 4 Jill, a 5k run dedicated to a UC Berkeley student who passed from Lung Cancer. At this event we helped with snacks, registration, and route guidance! It was a beautiful day for a beautiful cause!”

Lesliejane Pada, President: Our club just finished participating in our school's clubs' carnival where clubs sell things to fundraise for events or supplies, and our club was pretty successful. We have been doing our regular meetings and are always looking for new events to volunteer for. Our officers have also worked with new officers to prepare them for their upcoming positions, and are continually meeting with them. Also, some of our members are coming up with ideas for potential fundraisers with various games and, or events.

NORTHGATE— Katie Shimizu, president
Northgate Key Club, along with other Key Clubs, volunteered and participated in the NorCal Neon Run. Our group had so much fun cheering and spraying the runners with neon pink dye. We all are very excited for DCON 2014. We hope to attend the upcoming Awake-a-Thon hosted by our fellow Key clubbers in Division 2.
At the same day of Neon Run in the afternoon, the FilipinoAmerican Club dancers of Pittsburg Key Club performed a cultural dance at the Kiwanis Conference in San Ramon. Other than that day, we just had our new club officers elected. We are hoping to end the term with a few more events and soon hosting small training meetings for the new board. Sometime in Spring, we are bringing back the Hunger Games Fundraiser since it was successful last Fall.

KICKOFF DAY Minami Coleman, CP Editor The Kickoff Day allows children with disabilities to play and interact in a fun and safe environment. In the beginning, each key clubber was assigned to a baseball team and assisted them in playing. The Key Clubbers led the players in the opening ceremony, helped players steer their wheelchairs, hung posters, played tag, and encouraged players.
NEON RUN--
10
The first day of March, Concord, College Park, and Mount Diablo Key Clubs went to Pleasanton for the 5k Neon Run. We worked the powdering station with College Park, spending a fun 3 hours throwing buckets on buckets of purple powder at hundreds of the neon run participants! We got dirty, and looked like purple monsters afterward, but all of the members who attended had a great time. Vanessa Martinez, Concord
At the Neon Run, our members were primarily at the water stations for the first half of the night, they filled all the tables up with water for runners and directed people to the starting lines. For the second half of the night, we helped out near the finish line of the run where we throw the purple color powder on the runners. The whole event was very entertaining and fun, and the end left all of our members (and their possessions) covered in purple! Lesliejane Pada, Mt. Diablo
Before sunset, we helped set up the “zones for the runners and filled up hundreds of cups at the water stations. Once the race started, we threw glow-in-the-dark powder on the runners passing by our assigned zone. More than a thousand runners came through to the event and we continued to cheer them on even if we ran out of the colored powder. Our cheers were non-stop for the whole time as the music kept on playing around us. After the race, we cleaned up our zone, and ended the event around 10 PM.

What immediately distinguished Red Devils from the rest? That’s right— major SPIRIT! No one cheers like a Red Devil, and we won the spirit stick in style thanks to spirit coordinator Roy Golingan.

Giving back to the community—that’s what we’re all about. This term, each club managed to stay active volunteering and making a difference in the community.

Every month, we came together to discuss, update, and collaborate at our monthly DCMs. Here, we learned to speak out and share, and with every meeting the Red Devil bond grew in strength.
LOOKING AHEAD:
—DCON info— The 68th Annual Cali-Nev-Ha District Convention will be held in Sacramento, CA on April 11-13, 2014.
What is DCON? A district convention where all of CNH comes together to celebrate our achievements, learn new skills, meet other members, and get ready for the new term. In other words… the BEST Key Club experience of your life, hands down.
GOALS: “Our District Goals this year incorporate the golden theme. As one district, our aim is 46,000 members. As divisions, we want to work towards contributing to a goal of $150,000 for Pediatric Trauma Program. As clubs, we want to come together to serve 1,000,000 hours of service. As individual members, we want to save 3 lives from maternal/ neonatal tetanus. Together, this will bring us to one GOLDEN year. With your help, we will undoubtedly achieve these goals and have more to celebrate when DCON comes around!”

“DCON was my Key Club moment. I went to the 2012 District Convention and it completely transformed my perspective on Key Club and service. I came into contact with the spirited energy of Key Club through the amazing workshops, and I got to listen to awesome, motivational speakers. Most importantly, I made memories with the friends I made from all over the Cali-NevHa District.
Katie Shimizu, Northgate President
22 Wow. I know in every editor’s closing I always say “I can’t believe it’s almost [insert time of year]” but this time… I REALLY cannot believe this term is coming to an end. It’s completely unreal. This is my last newsletter ever, and my time serving Division 26 North is coming to a close as DCON and eventually graduation approaches. This term has been a huge learning experience and a tremendous period of growth for all of us. As a division, we decided we wanted to become something and we set goals that we reached and surpassed. We ignited a new passion for service that simply was not there a year ago, and we dominated in terms of spirit and fundraising for our preferred charities. Working with you all and archiving your Key Club moments through my newsletters has been an extremely rewarding experience. I began this position with no predecessor and struggled though the first few months, but with time and the help of my fellow Red Devils, I was able to get the hang of things and now I’m more proud than I can possibly express to be part of documenting the rise of Division 26 North.
Keep up the good work, Devils, and remember that you make a difference everyday with the choices you make. May the 2014-15 term be an even greater success.
