Hey Red Devils! I cannot believe we are nearly half way through the summer, tim fast, I hope you have all had a great summer so far. Anyways, I enjoy this months Newsletter, I am not completely sure what to I guess its kind of retro, and to tie it all together I chose t reminds me of a typewriter. Things are looking a lot better reg vaccines rolling out and being effective as well as cases goin getting to know each other and possibly making new friends, It can also serve as a resource for creativity, we could bounce ideas off of each other. One of my favorite summer activities which I highly recommend is bullet journaling, not only does it help me stay organized and on top of all of my duties, it also exercises my creative brain. I kind of need to write more to cover more space on this page so Im writing

this sure Thank great

fer, and, of course, cleaner community. On Saturday umulating about 16 participants, from approximately own Pittsburg, giving students the opportunity to get d, while safely cleaning! Within the span of two hours, h from John Buckley Square all the way down to the With Covid still present, Key Club still made sure to follow all covid safety protocols with mandatory masks. This way, participants were able to feel safe while giving downtown a nice little clean up. Because of that, Key Club gathered 16 willing participants to work together and clean, making it fast and efficient. From the beginning to end, I. personally had a great time as I was able to see and meet with my friends while helping our community the best way

we can. I loved every part of the clean up given the fact that we not only had a great time, but it was very convenient in a way to positively contribute towards Pittsburg. We were all in groups of four, and I was able to group up with friends I haven’t caught up with in person since Covid-19 hit. Overall, I had a really great time and I cant wait for the next Clean-Up/service event. Quoted by Pittsburg Key Club Vice President of Admin, Yen Phan, “It was exciting and fun to help clean up our community

and bond with fellow members at our first clean up of the new term. With the help of 16 others, we were able to collect at least 9 full garbage bags. We were divided into groups so that we could spread out and clean as much as possible. My group and I collected up to three bags of trash, which was both exhausting and enjoyable During this clean up it was a great way to bond and receive some community service hours and I would definitely do it again.” .

24

In accordance with Pittsburg Key Club Member, Patricia, “I have loved doing clean ups since middle school. While I don't like the idea of picking up trash and seeing the amount of it, I like looking at the scenery when we're done. Key Club was hosting a clean up at downtown Pittsburg, and I loved my time there. I got to explore my community, hang out with my friends, and helped sweep/pick up trash.” Overall, Pittsburg Key Club has successfully given people a nice, clean, and safe environment to stay. All the way from the John Buckley Park, to Railroad (New Mecca, California Theatre, Etc.), and to the Marina, we were able to collect more than enough bags of trash.

On Saturday, May 15, two officers from College Park, the president, Samuel Chen and the editor, myself, collaborated with Pittsburg. They had five members for the FilAm Fundraiser event. The Fil-Am Fundraiser Event is the Filipino-American Association, Inc. of Pittsburgh that’s raising money for the reopening of the Cultural building. The people who arrive would buy food and drinks and watch a movie. You could buy 6 green tickets with 5 dollars and exchange them for drinks. You can also trade in an orange ticket to get a plate of Mexican food like enchiladas, and one small bottle of water. In preparation for the event, we moved boxes, scooped ice cream, handled tickets, snapped rolled wafers into two called pirouettes, and greeted guests.
