LTG

Hey Red Devils! I hope you’re having an amazing summer! Don’t forget that service doesn’t stop in summer, there are various opportunities for you to obtain service hours within these three months. During your free time, don’t forget to give back and serve your home, school, and communities! Every hour you do, makes a huge difference and I commend you all for taking time out of your day to make a difference. Never be afraid to go above and BEEyond, each and every one of you have the potential to do something great. Don’t forget that I’m always one text away, so never hesitate to message me! See you all very soon ❤ Sizzling with Service, Courtney Sanchez

On May 12th, the Key Clubs of our area came together at a park in Concord to not only collect the clothing from all of the different Key Clubs, but to also play bondin games to help. Key Clubbers make friends from other schools and create more of a community in our division. In total, we must have collected more than 15 bags of clothing! -Rachel Snyder

clayton valley On May 12th, our club president and one other member went to CYC, in Concord. They helped sell food and beverages to the wrestlers at CYC with Kiwanis International. One of our members even got the chance to cook on a grill. The two had a fun time helping and meeting the community of Concord. -Jerome Andrew Faustino 7

college park [We] Participated in the Planting Party at Pleasant Hill Elementary on the morning of May 12, 2018. We helped with gardening and general upkeep of the school from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. -Cameron Cole

deer valley  On May 17, 2018, Deer Valley Key Club hosted a campus clean-up at Deer Valley High School. The objective of the clean-up was to help eliminate the waste and trash that was not properly disposed of all around the campus. Eight Key Clubbers total attended this service event. Our campus looked so much better after Key Club had gone through and picked up every last bit of litter we could find during the time that we had. -Allison Lee

dozier-libbey Dozier-Libbey Key Club had collaborated with an organization called, Yuda Bands. Yuda bands is an organization that helps send children to school and donate money for their education which includes textbooks, school supplies, etc. They delivered us beautiful handmade bracelets which was sent from Guatemala, in which we sold at school for $7 each. All of the money we made went towards two children that we sponsored and we raised $1,155. -Isabelle Nguyen

On May 19th, a bunch of D26N key clubbers made their way down to Little Marina Green in San Francisco to make it to set-up at 7am! Many drove down and some had to ride bart to get there. Teamwork was crucial for set-up, everyone helped move & set-up tables and chairs. After that, the volunteers were all assigned to a specific job for the event. I worked at the food stand, and handed out donuts and other pastries alongside 3 other key clubbers. Others worked as route guiders, were at the rest stop, cheered on the walkers, and more. -Maddie Lugue

mount diablo As for this month of June, our members attended Take Step a Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. Its a family-friendly fundraising event where patients and supporters inspire each other to continue the fight against these devastating diseases. Patients and their families are able to connect with there community, helping them understand that they are never alone in this fight. -Carlos Trejo

On Saturday, May 12, we volunteered at the Moraga Community Fair for "Be the Star You Are!", a nonprofit organization based in Moraga. "Be the Star You Are!" aims to empower women, families, and youth through improved literacy, tools for living, and positive message media, which is why we were glad to be able to help out and participate. -Jocelyn Thai
