Alhambra -SCHOOL REGISTRATION-
On Tuesday, August 15th, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Alan Kobylik (Treasurer), Claire Stone (President), Graham Manning (member), Abi Herrick (Editor), and Nicole Tria (member) put in a total of fourteen hours volunteering at Alhambra High School’s registration day. Located on 150 East Street, Martinez, volunteers manned the Key Club booth, encouraging people to sign up for Key Club by explaining to them what Key Club’s values are and why they should join the club. The volunteers also showed the incoming students our club’s awards and spirit gear in order to get them excited about Key Club. Registration was a huge success for signing up new members including incoming Freshman. Claire was able to talk to parents and students about joining Key Club, so we also gained parent volunteers. We were so excited to meet enthusiastic parents who could help with rides! Not only that but we also advertised our clubs Remind. By the end of the day, we had added over 40 people to our Remind! This led to a great turn out to our first meeting during the second week of school, on August 29th, with over 40 people in attendance! Now we are looking forward to our school’s Club Fair on September 8th. Rachel Synder | Alhambra

C
d r o c n o Senior Center BBQ Event
The Senior Center BBQ Event was held at Carlton Senior Living in Concord. Key Clubbers were asked to help with food, carnival games, and assist the seniors with anything. It was a great event for all of the seniors’ families to bond with them even though they live away from home. Clubbers were assigned to food stations and served different items of food. Others were placed at booths that had carnival games and participated with anyone who wanted to play. Overall, being able to make the seniors and their families happy was a great opportunity for service. AJ Elma | Concord

AHS’s annual beginning of- the-year Club Rush went underway on the 29th of August during both lunches. There, all clubs set up at tables to promote their club, educate students about what they do, and talk to anyone showing interest. Juliet Rodriguez (President), Emilio Garcia (Member), Courtney and Briana Sanchez (Members), and I (Jacob Laico Editor), each got a little under an hour of service working both lunches at the table. Many students came by and picked up a pamphlet, others just asked if we make keys (of course). At the end of the rush event, we finished with 7 more sign ups from what seemed like a promising group of new members. They were all informed that a meeting was taking place after school to go more in depth of what key club is, and future events.

Clayton Valley HANGING UP FLYERS
Last week, our hardworking president designed a new flyer for our club. It featured our division at Fall Rally North and included information about our club such as when and where our meetings are as well as the benefits of Key Club. She then printed out over one-hundred copies. In the office for us to hang up after school.Overall, the event was very productive, as we finished hanging up flyers roughly an hour after school ended. This gave us time to do our homework and relax after the school day ended. The event was also a nice opportunity for a majority of our officers to bond. Most importantly though, hanging up eye-catching flyers will attract more potential members to our club and listen what we have to say. Christine Tran | Clayton Valley

Deer Valley The August DWS was helping out at Concord Harvest Day which was located in Gehringer Park Recreation Club on August 19th, from 9am-3pm. People could work in three shifts; on the first shift, three out of ten people were from Deer Valley! During the first shift, we mainly helped people set up their booths because it was before the actual Harvest Festival. It was really nice getting to chat with the vendors and seeing what each of them was selling! We also helped out with the food preparations and we gave trash bags to each vendor so that they would throw trash away in the trash bags and not on the ground! The first shift was also pretty slow and easy-going, which was great because we got to walk around to see all the booths and all of the colorful, bountiful harvest. This DWS really helped us get to talk with the community, and we got to bond with our members! It also helped us give thanks to our community, and for us to recognize the beautiful harvest that everyone worked so hard to make. Thank you to all who attended!

Food Bank
kraP egelloC 22Â // Club Reports
This month College Park Key Club attended a service project at the Food Bank. We helped to sort and package enormous piles of fruit to prepare to distribution. The fruit we helped to package would eventually be delivered to low-income children who will receive the fresh produce. When we arrived at the Food Bank we were assigned a couple of different roles regarding packing the fruit. Some of us would be sorting through fruits or pears, tossing out rotten ones while keeping the good ones. The others would be making boxes and would be preparing our packed ones for distribution. The plus to volunteering at the Food Bank is that it's an excellent way to directly help those who really need it. Only officers of our board wound up attending this event, but it was a good experience and opportunity that helped us bond. We hope to be back at the Food Bank soon! Katherine Beckley | College Park
