Hello beautiful reader! November was a much more relaxed month compared to the spooktacular October. Although October was fun, with events like Region Training Conference and Fall Rally North, It is important that we don't forget about the importance of service. Now that you have had all of the proper training and fun, it's time to get down to buzz-iness! With just a short five months in the term, for many it is your last couple months in Key Club. Take this opportunity to showcase and meet those last goals of yours before you fly away from the bee hive. For club officers, continue to push your limits and meet your goals. It is not impossible, for even the word "impossible" spells I'm possible! You were elected to serve this position to the best of your ability for the members. The members believe in you, and you should give them all that they have given to you. It is merely not just a title you put in your college applications, but it is the effort you put in the position that makes it meaningful on your application. We as a Division have reached 2,946 service hours as of November 10th, 2016. Last year, we had over 5,000. We are more than halfway to reaching last year's goal! We have raised 1/4 of the amount we are wanting to raise for PTP, but we need YOU in order to reach $5,000 by April 1st, 2017. Have a great break and treat yo'self! - Lt. Governor Wencie Hoang
HALLOWEEN ICE MONSTER BOBA FUNDRAISER Thank you to everyone who came out on Halloween to support! Without the 15% cut off, we raised a total of $76! However, we did have a 15% cut off, so we made $15. That is still something, and thank you so much to everyone who posted and shared on social media! Lets work together and make the next
Thank you to everyone who attended the November DCM! The DCM was held on Saturday, November 12th at Todos Santos Plaza. If you scroll on over to the next page, you will see all that was discussed at the DCM! It was also our November DWS, and we made a total of 42 care packages inspired by Conscious Period's mission to ensure every woman receives the feminine products she needs for her menstrual cycle. We had a clothes drive as well, and the 5 large bags of clothes were a lot to carry, but was heartwarming to know that it would be going towards
CLUB REPORTS
ANTIOCH Antioch High School Key Club members took time from their High School Schedules to Collaborate with Belshaw in order to ensure a safe and well organized Fall Festival. It was a fun, heartwarming event that would bond us each closer together as the event went on and provide for the children club members kept occupied at the Festival along with the adults that oversaw or enjoyed the event with good experiences overall and a more spirited community. We hope for more amazing opportunities like this to invite members and students out to leave our K.E.Y impression on the community.
Deer Valley In preparation for Key Club Week during the second week of November, we here at Deer Valley Key Club got together to make thank-you and appreciation cards for our club advisors! Our Kiwanis advisors, Argentina and Angel, as well as our faculty advisor, Mr. Corning, do so much to help our club run. They help us scout out potential service events, vouch for us at Kiwanis meetings, offer organizational support, and Mr. Corning lets us use his room every week. They have to deal with our loudness and spirit, and we appreciate them for that. Our members made almost thirty handmade cards to give to Argentina, Angel, and Mr. Corning on the second day of Key Club Week: Kudos to the Key Players. We had the chance to get into the Thanksgiving spirit a month early, as well as have fun with arts and crafts and just spend time with one another. All in all, it was a simple yet successful service project. Happy Key Club Week! At our club meeting after school on Wednesday, November 9, we celebrated Day 3 of Key Club Week: Dare to Care. The theme of this day is to engage in service directed towards one of Key Club International’s three preferred charities: UNICEF, Children’s Miracle Network, and March of Dimes. With this in mind, we organized a simple service project to have our members make nonslip socks to donate to our nearest Children’s Miracle Network hospital! Our members channeled their inner creativity and painted some very cute designs on the bottoms of the socks. We had a fun and relaxing time, both chatting and getting to know each other as well as decorating socks for kids in need.
Division 26 North Official Newsletter Light the Night was held not too long ago we are proud to say that 26 of our members went to volunteer. Many first time members really enjoyed their time, and many of them said that they would continue to go to more events. Hopefully these members can tell their friends for the next events. We collected the Trick or Treat for Unicef boxes today at our meeting, and we gathered over $150 for Eliminate! Good job everyone! We have tons of more events this month, and we are all very excited for the action-packed month! —Brian Choe, College Park Editor
