LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR’S WELCOME
OFFICIAL DIVISION 26 NORTH NEWSLETTER | MARCH EDITION

  Sizzling Red Devils,
This is it. It has been an immense honor to serve as the Division 26 North lieutenant governor of the 2014-2015 term. I know that this division will only prosper more, so please welcome your newly installed lieutenant governor, Gagan Lally.Â
First of all, I have had the hardest time letting go and it breaks my heart because I have grown so fond of Division 26 North. This term has had its ups and downs but I wouldn't change a thing about it. I sincerely appreciate every single one of you - for serving your community, giving up weekends for service projects, fundraising and donating to our preferred charities, and keeping our red devil spirit alive. I have grown so attached to this division, the best division in the CNH District đ&#x;˜Š
Once again, I am proud to have served such spirited, caring, and dedicated members. I honestly have no words because you have left me speechless. This term, this organization, this division. YOU have all made an impact in my life and I will cherish this year for the rest of my life. I have created so many memories with all of you at division council meetings, club visits, Fall Rally North, Region Training Conferences, District Convention and so many more. The biggest regret I have this term is not reaching out to every single individual and really getting to know you.Â
Together, we have grown as individuals; we have grown as leaders; we have grown together, as an Ohana. Key Club is love. Key Club is life â?¤ ď¸?Â
As Mama Devil, I will miss all of my babies dearly. I know that each and every one of you will grow and prosper into better leaders. Regardless that I'm graduating, I will always make myself available to help you in any way possible. Please do not forget about me, and I would love to keep in contact with you all. I'm always a text, call, DM, tweet, etc away.Â
I love you all and will miss serving as your lieutenant governor â?¤ ď¸?đ&#x;˜
With fire-burning love and passion,Â
Immediate Past Lieutenant Governor,Â
Jennifer LamÂ

College Park Key Club volunteers at the Contra Costa Food Bank regularly. Our members divides into three sections, the first group checks for the expiration date, then the second group sorts the canned food into the category they belong to, and the last group boxes up the food and sends them out for delivery to the community. Sometimes we pack fresh produces into boxes, or sort bread. College Park Key Club really enjoys volunteering at the food bank because we could help the community while bonding with our members. - Charissa Tseng | Club Editor

For this amazing month of the year, Antioch volunteered at a Kiwanis organized Fundraising Dinner. It was hosted at the Antioch Bridge Marina Yacht Club on a fine Saturday evening. From serving food, to busting tables, this day was as productive as can be! Some had the opportunity to help the staff wash dishes, and others gratefully helped clean up after the event; all of the members had a good time. Along with the fulfilling service of the evening one of our favorite Vice Principles came to check out our dedication and hard work! This Kiwanis Fundraising Dinner was a definite fun local event to participate/Volunteer in! - Jordan Henderson | Club Editor

Last year, Pittsburg Key Club hosted the first ever Hunger Games fundraiser at their very own high school. 24 Tributes were chosen per round, battling for survival and collecting the most items from the Cornucopia (the center fountain). Each round, there are two kinds of winners: Scavengers and Survivors. Scavengers gather the most number of items from the arena, and Survivors are the ones who made it through the whole round with both of their life flags (from the flag football belts). Several Key Clubs from D26N came through to support and sacrifice Tributes to help Pittsburg fundraise for their DCON and Eliminate Project funds.

As we are about to start a new term, we want to cherish our memories from the 2014-2015 Key Club year. These memories created strong bonds within our division. As the year passed, we shared experiences with each other and enjoyed a roller coaster of emotions throughout the year. For this very special, final DCM of Jennifer’s term, I asked several Red Devils of what their best memory is with Division 26 North.

Sandy I think my best memory with D26N was frn 2013. This was my first "big key club event" as a freshman. I didn't have any expectations or standards because I didn't really know so much about key club yet. But when I saw other schools in our division, cheering together, working together to win the honorary spirit stick, it warmed my heart. I didn't personally know these people, but after working together it made me want to meet every single one of them. And I think that's what's so special about this memory, it opened my eyes on how we were able to achieve something like a family without knowing each other like family.

As cheesy as this sounds, my best memory is every event i've gotten to spend with D26N because I'm so blessed to be apart of such an amazing division.

Lesliejane Being a part of Key Club since freshmen year, I have been able to watch our small division grow into a strong, connected, and spirited group. I have many great memories of and within this division, but nothing can replace my memory of my first Fall Rally North. Watching us grow into such a united group and win the spirit stick made me so proud. I always knew Key Club was fun and great, but that moment was a milestone in our divisional growth, making me very proud and honored to be a part of it. We used to be the "underdog" division, and we really rose up. That rally was also where I made some of the greatest friends I have ever met, and I always tell people of how that was my Key Club moment, not just because of the win but because I saw the change and growth of our division first hand - I couldn't have been more proud to be a Red Devil!

Francisco My best memory with Division 26 North. On a June afternoon, our entire division, along with D26N went out to California High School to honor our divisions. All of us dressed in the best looking clothes, had me feeling as though there is something more larger than just “the club.” Even outside of our meeting place, hundreds of people were volunteering at a Relay for Life! it is difficult to say what my best moment is with D26N, because this entire year has dozens of small moments that really stand out to me. But specifically, on that June Day, we said goodbye to people who had a major division impact; and a hello to the next set of individuals who will make a significant impact to our Red Devil Clan.

Javi I have so many memorable moments but if I had to choose, it would be the DCMs because that’s when we were usually together as a whole group instead of getting split up and when we felt like a second family to me.

Vivian I don't have one single favorite memory, but every single crab feed that I have attended with my club has been special in its own way. Whether it was joint with other Key Clubs (Concord, Miramonte, Alhambra, and Acalanes) or Interact, crab feeds have definitely been the highlights of my term. Each crab feed has reminded me of the love of service and Key Club that seemed to be hidden in the beginning of the term, but this love has certainly been rekindled. Key Club, although great in its social aspects, is even greater in its service events because of the warm, fuzzy, rewarding feeling at the end of each service event. I am blessed to have attended each crab feed because I feel that at every one, all of my members and I bonded and it is definitely rewarding to get to know every single member more personally. Go Falcon Devils!

Roy My best memory with Division 26 North would definitely be all the times I’ve seen people smile and enjoy their time through service events and fundraisers for charities. I believe that these moments embody the spirit of Key Club. We are a service organization that helps our homes, schools, and communities. Seeing Key Clubbers do what they’re supposed to for their communities are always moments that I treasure in my memories.

My favorite memory with Key Club would have to be DCON 2015. It's pretty depressing that it was my first & last DCON *heart-breaking emoji. This event not only allowed me to meet new people, it gave me the chance to reunite with old friends. I even got to room with Devils from d26s; it was pretty intimidating at first since I was the only red devil, but then I found myself being the first to introduce myself to them and when things got a little awkward, I just turned the tv on for background sound lol. The general sessions were lengthy, but very exciting. I cheered and clapped for so many people I didn't even know, seeing other divisions being loud and crazy made me feel like we were all one. I was even a tad bit jealous of how spirited and passionate the other divisions were with their cheers, pero like I luv D26N 5ever so it's all good. Omg I cannot forget, the bus ride home from DCON was definitely one to remember. From having our AC breaking down, to getting a flat tire in the middle of the free way, to being stuck at McDonalds for hours, to sitting next to a smelly bathroom throughout the whole bus ride, we all managed to still have a smile on our faces by playing Heads Up, singing throwback Disney songs, and jumping up & out of our seats because we would go crazy over Shaina's Connect the Points riddle & my Green Glass Door riddle. I'm really glad our bus ride home took longer than expected because I got to bond with other people from our division. Overall, DCON was an amazing experience and I would do it all over again if I had the chance!! LOVEEEEEEEE YALLL.Â

Vanny My first time attending DCon and I got to perform in front of nearly 3,000 people and it'll never be an experience that I will ever forget. I was shaking with excitement, you could literally feed off of their energy and the audience's reaction is stuck in my head. I replay every moment of it and I still can't believe it ever happened. My goal is to be on that stage again. To experience their love and to just sink in their enthusiasm all over again.
Shaina This year, I was very fortunate enough to apply for the talent portion at DCON 2015 and earn a spot. Me and some of my closest friends were very humbled to be given such an opportunity to perform and entertain the Key Clubbers who have attended. It was definitely an amazing experience that I will always remember in Key Club

Daphne Performing for DCON was such an amazing experience that I personally will never forget. Feeling the nerves and adrenaline while hearing such a large and enthusiastic crowd was crazy. Actually, the performance itself was crazy fun too! I'm so glad that all of us (Crew 925) pushed ourselves to make the performance happen and overall I still feel very blessed and happy that we were able to take the opportunity to perform for all those Key Clubbers and to represent D26N as well.
Being able to perform twice in front of 2,800+ key clubbers was an experience unlike any other. The collaborative hard work from our group of five pushed us to bond with one another, and sharing that stage with them was quite the privilege. To my surprise, the overwhelming support from the audience actually took away the pre-performance jitters and made the experience so much sweeter. Having the chance to perform solo on the DCON stage has always been a dream Ive had since my freshman year, and to know i was able to express my passion in front of thousands is so surreal. This has definitely been the highlight of my senior year and will be a memory i will never forget.

EDITOR’S FINAL CLOSING
OFFICIAL DIVISION 26 NORTH NEWSLETTER | MARCH EDITION
PAGE 45
And just like that, I have finished my final year in Key Club, and my final newsletter for Division 26 North. It has truly been a real journey with this division. I have seen people grow, change, lead, laugh, cry, struggle, conquer, shine, and burn bright with service. I have seen clubs prosper with members, I have seen clubs serve to serve, and I have seen clubs that gave members their “Key Club Moment.” This is my final newsletter, and it will be my most treasured item from the division. I love my Red Devils till the very end, and I will always remember where I came from. No matter where I am, the spirit of Division 26 North will burn eternally in my heart. I will end with one of my favorite quotes, and I hope that you will also keep this in mind whenever you feel that you have hit a low during your Key Club life. “Around here however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening new doors to new things, because we’re curious…and curiosity keeps leading us down to new paths” - Walt Disney This is Roy Golingan signing off as Division 26 North’s news editor. So, Red Devils, be optimistic, stay burning, and keep moving forward.
