LAST REMARKS FROM OUR

IP Lieutenant Gov.

2018-2019

Red Devils, From the bottom of my heart, I want to say thank you for making the past year of my life one of the best! Thank you for your endless dedication to community service and fundraising for preferred charities. Thank you for attending one, two, or even all division events or even for attending at least one club meeting. Because of you, I was able to grow and shape into the person I’ve always wanted to be. I hope you were able to meet new people and make endless memories throughout the past year. I will definitely miss seeing you all every weekend, but I hope you all decide to further your Key Club journey! Please continue to spend your free time helping your home, schools, and communities! Please continue to educate those around you all about our preferred charities! Don’t forget once a red devil, always a red devil - never let your fire and spirit die out! Once again, thank you for an amazing term and I hope I get to see you all very very very soon! I am so incredibly proud of how much we accomplished and I wouldn’t change it for the world, I love you Division 26 North! <3

8TH GRADERS CLUB RUSH

Carlos Trejo Mount Diablo

Mount Diablo had the eighth graders over to check out our school. We're the change to interact with the uprising freshman and encourage them to join. We were asked multiple times if we made keys and we always replied with, "No we don't make keys but we do open doors to opportunities. We had a good hand full of students who were interested, many had heard from us from the previous generation or current key club members. We explained that we have several events across the year like DCON, Conclave, etc which got them excited to join.

Heritage Key Club held our elections for our 2019-2020 Officer Board. This year, we had an extra 3 positions available! For the upcoming term, Heritage will now have a Vice President #2 and #3, as well as an Editor #2. Vice President #1 will be in charge of member outreach, #2 is for member recognition, and VP #3 will be responsible for our club’s special projects. Editor #2 will reboot and take control of our club’s website while #1 will continue creating our monthly articles, visuals, and newsletters. Adding onto Editor #1’s jobs, they will also be taking over the club social media platforms and updating them.

April's MS walk was the second event of the term sizzling with service. This event was a lot like the Cystic Fibrosis walk, however this event had started earlier, which gave our key clubbers and the rest of the volunteers, to set up faster. Soon after setting up, the rest of the key clubbers soon arrived and the fun began when we were all sent to our assigned shifts. While working the rest stops fellow key clubbers were handing out waters and snacks to the walkers that were passing by the 1 mile walk, and the 3 mile walk. There wasn't a huge amount of walkers so as soon as all the walkers have gone by, all of the volunteers began to head back towards the parking lot to either purchase some food or finish up cheering for the remaining walkers that had finally reached the finish line. As soon as the cheer shift ended all of the key clubbers began to take down all of the tables that had been set, along with the chairs, and any boxes that needed to be carried off the tables. Before we knew it, with the help of all of the volunteers we had finished right on time, ending this second event with a bang.

Happy May! I am so honored to have been asked by our LTG Ivan to make this month's newsletter! Last term I proudly served the division as editor for my home club Heritage. I hope you all had an active and eventful April, and if you attended District Convention 2019, I hope you had the most fun being able to experience one of the biggest events of the year, and getting to fall in love with Key Club even more. May is a blossoming month for a lot of service opportunities, so take advantage of all of them! It's only the beginning of the 2019-2020 term, so get a head start on your productiveness and service for this club! I want to thank all of you for making the 2018-2019 term absolutely unforgettable and one of the best! Without all of you we couldn't have won both the FRN and DCON spirit sticks! You are all the keys to ha ve had our division's term run so successfully. I hope you all continue to serve with passion and dedication for this org anization this term. Have the most memorable May R ed Devils! I wish the best of luck to all of you w ho ran for the Division Leadership Team, and I h ope you all took that great opportunity to ru n.
