D26 let me hear you SCREAAAAM! Hello Red Devils! This past month, October, was full of accomplishments and moments I couldn't be more proud of. I want to thank and congratulate you all for raising more that $1,400 for the Pediatric Trauma Program. Because of y'all, we are able to give back to our community! With this, Fall Rally North this year is something I will never forget. Seeing all of you on stage, a giant sea of red, is something that I will always cherish. This year, we grew. Not just in numbers, but as an ohana. I can't wait to see what else is in store for us this year! Is it already November? It's a little more than halfway through the term, so let's make the best of it! With this, don't forget that it's Key Club Week from Nov. 3-7! Check the cyber key for which day is what. By this time of the year, especially during the holidays, make sure to give back to your home, schools, and communities. It's that time of the year.. Time to Eliminate! Remember to fundraise for the Eliminate Project, because our goal is to eliminate Maternal & Neonatal Tetanus by 2015. Well, that's all for now! Please contact me if you have any questions, comments, concerns, or just anything you need to talk about ( KeyClub or non-Key Club related) I'll see and talk to you all very soon. I love y'all <3 Proud mama of the Red Devils, Jennifer Lam

A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO ALL THAT CAME

This year I decided to be the Spirit Coordinator for my division, 26 North. And I must say it has been the best decision I have ever made in my Key Club career! Fall Rally North was an amazing experience that I will treasure in my heart for the rest of my life. The turnout was incredible! My division screamed their lungs out and bleed crimson red for their Ltg. Miss Jennifer Lam and division. Although we did not win the Spirit Stick, like last year, we tied for 2nd place which was just as special. But at the end of the day my D26N will always be #1 in my heart! I was overjoyed with happiness by my divisions performance and couldn’t have been prouder. My favorite memory from Fall Rally this year was seeing my Key Club friends from all over California! I missed all my D2 Kiwis, D12S Supervillians, D26S Blue Devils, and D34S Purple Penguins, it was heartwarming hanging out with them again. But the one thing that stuck with me the whole event was the energy I got from everyone at the rally, the energy of family, spirit, and service. This is what I love about Key Club, the good vibes it spreads from its Lieutenants to the members about the love of service. And that was what Fall Rally was all about the love of family, spirit, and service. As the 2014 Spirit Coordinator I would like to say that FRN was mind-blowing, exhilarating, and phenomenal! I cannot wait for the Red Devils to come back next year and reclaim our Spirit Stick! - Gagan Lally, 2014 Spirit Coordinator

KIWANIS Golf Ball Numbering Party

This month Concord High Key Club fired up Pleasant Hill by volunteering at the Numbering Golf Balls Event. The event took place on September 24th and was a joined division event with our sister division D26S. At this event we numbered golf balls for our Kiwani's fundraiser at Antioch Golf Course. Over 20 Concord High members showed up. It was an exciting, fun day to kick off the start of the school/key club year! This also made a lot more members excited for Fall Rally North coming up next month! - Gagan Lally, Concord

This month, College Park Key Club volunteered at Chateau III in Pleasant Hill where they hosted their annual BBQ. It had a Halloween theme, so people dressed up in costumes and face paint. Our members served as waiters, helped at booths, served dinner, and cleaned up after the event was over. They also had a band that our Key clubbers danced along with the residents. This is our first time helping at Chateau III and we hope we will have more opportunities to serve again! - Charissa Tseng, Editor

NORTHGATE Campus Clean-Up

OFFICIAL DIVISION 26 NORTH NEWSLETTER | OCTOBER EDITION

PAGE 13

During the month of October, Northgate's Key Club participated in our school's Campus Clean-Up. It was a very long 3 hours with a great reward at the end; the feeling of service. We first arrived at around 9:00am at the front of the school. It was very crowded; a great sign. We were each split up into groups of about eight to nine people. We dispersed across the campus, each with our own set of tasks. Many people worked outside doing yard work; shoveling mulch, pulling weeds, repainting the school, etc. There were also people inside the school's atrium who cleaned up the tiny pond inside. All while doing this, people on the outside picked up trash/litter. It was not only an amazing time to catch up with friends and have fun, but we also accomplished a great service feat to our school. Prior to Campus Clean Up, there was trash everywhere, dead trees, and weeds everywhere. After undertaking this great service event, we all knew our sweat which derived from our hard work had come to something greater than words could explain. The reward that we received is something that is priceless. Our reward was the spark inside of us, the spark of service that unites the community into one whole. - Audrey Vergara, Northgate

The Panther Pantry our club participated in was great! What the school does, is have clubs once a month organize food, sort them, bag them. and give them away to students qualifying for free of reduced lunch. Key Club sorted and organized the food. It was the first official club volunteering event! The entire club felt as though they were in something more different than just some school club. A very good start to our school year! - Francisco Loya, President

UPDATES

ANTIOCH

This Month, Antioch participated in the Antioch Delta Coastal Cleanup, Antioch High Panther Pantry, Back to School Night, and helped with the Antioch Public Library! For the following month's participation, we plan to give spirit in Six Flags, do a dual event with another Key Club, sell Halloween Grams, fundraise with UNICEF Boxes, and help with local festivals around the City.

PITTSBURG

Pittsburg Key Club is busy preparing the club’s Homecoming Floats and the upcoming Diwali Festival at our school. Diwali is also called the Festival of Lights, and we are trying to help out our school’s Punjabi Pirates club to make this event successful. So far, we are searching for food banks to volunteer in, and we are about to do our last Football Concessions fundraiser for the year.
