I hope we will continue to do the best we can to meet our goals this year — let's finish the term strong! Please stay active in your club, division, district, community, and beyond, and use your voice to encourage others as well. We are almost to the end of our term, so let's give it our all! A letter from your

Lieutenant Governor

Hello Division 26 North! This month is all about Conclave!!! We’re prepping for the next Lieutenant Governor and new term, but that doesn’t mean we are done yet. We have three to four more months to go so let’s finish together strong :) We’ll have more division wide service, more fundraisers, and more events!! Remember to keep in mind that it is recognition season! Contact your officers for what awards YOU can apply for, learn how to make an E-Portfolio, and remind yourself that you have nothing to lose!! Lastly, keep in mind our goals: 3,337/10,000 service hours achieved and &1,628/ &7,500 funds raised for PTP. Thanks for working hard and let’s keep it going strong!

1. Describe your Key Club Moment (most memorable moment in Key Club) 2. Who is one person (in Key Club) you're thankful for and why? 3. What does Key Club mean to you?

Officer Interviews

pt. 2

1. My most memorable Key Club moment was when our whole division went to FRN and took part in the cheer battles. We were all so dedicated as a team to fight for the spirit stick. Even though we got 2nd place, the environment that was present gave me a sense of belonging and made me feel like I was a part of a second family! This was when I decided that I would be dedicated to the club and be a leader for my school’s Key Club. 2. Key Club means passion to me. To passionately work hard and serve the community. To passionately show the “Key Club” spirit of kindness and devotion. To passionately give my all to society and raise my worth as a human being. Key Club gives me a sense of purpose that no other club on campus does. 3. The one person in Key Club that I’m thankful for is our Division New Editor, Margot Manding. Apart from being a dear friend of mine outside of school, she is my inspirational figure on what a Key Clubber is supposed to look like. Her consideration towards others, especially for me, when she cheers everyone on in the most stressful time drives motive into me to overachieve in my tasks. She understands when people are struggling and is forgiving under such circumstances, an attribute that I believe is difficult to accomplish when the expectation of being a leader is to be hard on the peers. Her dedication not only towards her tasks but towards her fellow Key Club environment marks the reason as to why Margot is my Key Club idol!

INTERVIEWS

│ │ 05

1. My most memorable Key Club moment was the day our club got chartered on May 24th, 2019. This day was the gateway to all the amazing Key Club events, such as Fall Rally North and the multitude of bonding opportunities, that our members got to experience. Due to that day, Freedom Key Club became official and I had the honor to serve as the very first former Vice President and now second President. 2. To me, Key Club represents leadership and surprises. From the two to three years I have been with Key Club, I learned to become a leader to my members in order to guide them to the many things this organization brings. I get surprised every time I go to an event because of how much fun it offers and the friendships I make during that day. It's rewarding seeing members from my school build friendships with other members from other schools, knowing that Key Club was what brought them together! 3. I am incredibly thankful for our faculty advisor, Mr. Isaac Lee. He is the backbone of our club and without him, I don't think our members or myself would have been exposed to the many things Key Club had to offer. Mr. Lee's contribution to the club is BEE-yond amazing and the ideas he brings benefits Freedom Key Club greatly. Our entire club is thankful for Mr. Lee's comedic and kind presence at Freedom.

DOG TOY MAKING

Article by: Janessa Olopernes, Dozier Libbey

Dozier-Libbey Key Club decided to make gifts for the dogs at local animal shelters in hopes of showing them some love and joy for the holiday season. In doing so, we hosted a Dog Toy Making service event alongside the clubs of Deer Valley, College Park, Freedom, Heritage, and Pittsburg! There were a total of three Zoom meetings on the days of December 5th, 6th, and 7th, which each lasted for about an hour and a half. During our meetings, members had the chance to make dog toys with the warm, virtual, presence of others! Music played in the background as our attendees created fun presents for the lovable animals. This event also gave participants a chance to recycle old or unwanted clothing to use as fabric for the toys. As stated by Dozier-Libbey Key Club member Roxana Adriano, who attended every meeting, “The dog toy event is my favorite event so far. It was so calming as we listened to music and it was pretty fun making the toys too. My favorite part of this event was braiding my shirts.
