HAVE YOU BEEN COLLECTING YOUR COINS FOR PTP?
I hope you are all well What's hot, Red Devils? and taking care of yourselves—please remember that even when we leave the house, we should keep in mind that the virus is still alive! Please keep practicing social distancing, washing your hands often, and taking precautions towards your and others' safety. As summer continues and the virus limits our ability to get together, these months have struggled to keep involvement and spirits high. But, instead, I encourage you to make the best of the situation! Take this time to get more involved in your community, home, and key club, to learn more about about the division, district, and international branches, and to grow stronger connections by reaching out to others. Bee strong! And keep that fiery passion hot— times will get better and new things are coming soon! WITH A FIRE TO INSPIRE,

BACKGROUND Pediatric Trauma, or life-threatening injury is the leading cause of death among children throughout the U.S.
9,523 children die from traumatic injuries every year – that's one child every hour.
WHAT IS THE PEDIATRIC TRAUMA PROGRAM? The Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP) develops local projects such as providing community outreach, education, materials, and grants to partner hospitals for safety equipment and PT prevention, to reduce the number of children in our three-state District who are killed or injured by trauma, ensuring all children live happy, healthy and safe lives.
HOW ARE WE HELPING? The money we fundraise for PTP allows CNH to... provide grants to partner hospitals (enabling them to create or expand community outreach programs) provide grants to Kiwanis and SLP clubs (enabling them to help more children in more communities) and provide PTP safety items (which are available for purchase by our Kiwanis family at a subsidized cost).

ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
Ask members to create graphics that educate others about the environment and what they can do to combat and reverse pollution. Things to include in the graphics may include statistics about pollution, health-related impacts, or ways to reduce emissions of harmful gasses. By promoting simple acts to encourage environmental cleanliness, we are steps closer to a happier, healthier world:).

COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP
Please do not gather for these projects as California has been issued a second lockdown. Ideas that depend on outdoor activity can be done individually by members, in their own communities, or with their family.
While it is recommended to remain social distancing, members can go to a local park or neighborhood and help clean up the community! When planning, prepare supplies such as latex gloves and trash bags. Since members may not be able to meet up with their clubs, members can participate in nature cleanups with family members!
CYCLE FOR ARITY
rs can collect recyclables to turn into or charity! Members can either drop off the bles themselves or the president can create a f site for everyone. After the recyclables are d off at a recycle center, you can use the funds o donate to charity!
Everything mentioned was inspired by or found in the July Service Guide for the SOSP.

THE DLT
A1: Of the 4 Core Values I embody the most, I would have to say "caring" because I always look out for the needs of others. A2: I would tell those that are beginning their Key Club journey that once you get invested in Key Club, you are going to have so many unforgettable experiences. You will become much closer with people you already know and meet new people along the way.

A1: Of the 4 Core Values, I would say I embody "inclusiveness" the most. When I was a member my freshman year, I struggled with the feeling of exclusion. Now I try my best to ensure that everyone is not only comfortable in Key Club, but feels as though they are a part of our family! A2: You are always welcome in Key Club! You will meet lifelong friends and make countless memories, all while serving your community and building your character! Your Key Club journey is awaiting you. You always have a place in our Ohana!

SUMMER LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
Article By: Ashlee Davies, Heritage
From July 1st through the 3rd, Many of our key club members joined in the first ever virtual Summer Leadership conference. Along with key speakers, key clubbers also could attend workshops to learn more about service, their future, or how to improve their leadership qualities. When asked what they found to be the most inspiring, our D26N Lieutenant Governor, Edeline Ong remarked, "What I found most
inspiring was the resilience members in key clubs have. All these officers and members have gone through ups and downs but no matter what, are still in the organization and home we call key club.” A thoughtful sentiment about the characteristics of a key clubber. Our resilience and perseverance is what makes this club so special and makes everything that each club does for their communities possible.

JOINT ORIGAMI BONDING EVENT
On June 18th, Clayton Valley and Concord High School came together over a Zoom call for a joint service w event. We were to create origami figures dedicated to something that we individually value and appreciate. As the cases for the novel coronavirus begin to rise up once again, many of us should find things in our life to be grateful for and must not lose sight of that. Additionally, the idea of creating something yourself holds much more meaning, especially alongside your community. Despite that some figures were much more difficult than others, everyone had a fun time laughing at silly mistakes and helping each other out. Because everything taught was through a computer screen it was quite difficult to aid each individual
Article By: Kelly Lam, Clayton Valley
and keep up with the person teaching. Nevertheless, everyone managed to tackle the restricting obstacle with ease and created many origami figures. Origami has greatly evolved into a symbol of hope and healing during challenging times which appears to be very appropriate for times like these. We must continue to build a safe community and appreciate the little things, so to begin, we fold paper dedicated to those little things.
Thank you editors for your BEEutiful monthly submissions:).
