NOTES
A NOTE FROM YOUR DIVISION NEWS EDITOR Hello Devils! I hope you all had a good month! We're nearing the end of our term, so I hope we can all try our best to finish it strong:). Thank you for all the hard work this year, from the DLT, officers, to members. It was obviously hard to do a lot of things that we're used to — like interacting, having fun, doing service, and just being together— but I know many of us made the best out of the situation, which I find really inspiring:). Remember that the term isn't over yet, and there's still a lot more you can do— keep participating in service events, keep promoting events to others and stay attentive to upcoming club, division, and district news!
-Margot Manding Division News Editor 2020-2021

It will be our February DCM! Also finally come pick up your RTC tshirts at the DCM as well :D Participate in our Spring of Service Bingo Competition to help get closer to our service goal as well! We are super close to the end of the term but remember it’s never too late to keep serving, keep fundraising, and keep recruiting! WORDS
FROM
THIS
YEAR
Autumn Notes of Kindness PITTSBURG | JOCELYN MENDOZA "Some puns were even said on the notes such as “I have fillings 4 you”, “thinking of you in cornteen”, and “nuts about you”! This is essentially what the holidays are all about: giving back to our community."
RTC DOZIER LIBBEY | RAVIKESH KUMAR "It was pretty fun listening to different LTGs talk about different things to help us not only become better officers but better people in general. I will be looking forward to the next RTC, which will hopefully be in person and even better than this year."
In-Person Bonding/Service HERITAGE | ABBEY BRACAMONTE “Key Club’s first in-person event was really fun. I haven’t seen most of the members since March, so it was so nice seeing everyone in person and not through a screen."
THIS YEAR YEAR THIS Rock Painting
FREEDOM | KEVIN NGUYEN "The painting of rocks to bring to the community made me feel like I was bringing a positive part of me to society during a difficult time in our lives, making me very happy."
Color a Smile CLAYTON VALLEY | JIMENA JIMENEZ “The Color A Smile service event was really thrilling and brought a creative side to everyone. I enjoyed it, not only because we got to color and socialize together, but also because we were making others happy at the same time.”
Each One Teach One Tutoring COLLEGE PARK | SAMUEL CHEN "Meaningful Teens has offered me a plethora of different projects and a diverse range of students for me to help out. The experiences I got from all students have been different, but equally rewarding." Key Club highlights from members & officers.
WORDS
"I would say throughout this term, my favourite moment would definitely be my first club meeting. Through the anxiety of initiating the meeting, the rush during, and relief afterwards, it was a moment unforgettable. Scrapping negativity such as “what if no one comes” and thinking “I’m doing this FOR the ones who come” set the momentum for the term. Seeing cl close to 40 people (well at least their icons) filled me with joy, excitement, and a goal to not let them down."
-Mason Rodriguez
Dozier Libbey President 20-21
"One of my favorite moments being in key club was a bonding + service event before christmas break which was an all nighter. through that event, i had an opportunity to meet new people while playing games and enjoying movies at the same time. in the event, we also got to do activities like making thank you cards, learn more about each other and also talk about how our lives were affected in the pandemic which made me really enjoy the whole all nighter. despite that the event was on zoom, i really enjoyed it since it gave me this thought that even though we’re in a pandemic, we could still have fun in key club."

"Since my freshman year, the thing I have always loved most about key club is how it pushed me to connect with others. Especially through this stay-at-home order, I really appreciate how some safe, face-to-face interactions are still put on. My favorite moment of this year was definitely the Valentine's PTP goodie bag fundraiser. I enjoyed finally meeting with members in person, even if it was for only a few minutes!"
-Stephanie Dumalig Northgate Member 20-21

PITTSBURG KEY CLUB'S VALENTINE’S DAY CARDS Article by: Jocelyn Mendoza On February 8, starting at promptly 5PM, Pittsburg Key Club hosted a thank you card-making event as a celebration for Valentine’s Day and to show our appreciation for our teachers. The event began with approximately 7 attendees and we all chatted with each other. Once Vince, our Vice President was finished explaining the instructions, we
discussed which
movie/ show we should all watch whilst we worked on our cards. In the end, we decided to watch ICarly. The event itself was very comforting and needed for us to just bask in each others’ company while being able to do something for others at the same time. Most of us were able to make about 2-3 cards and will be distributing them with all of our other stored crafts as soon as it is safe again! The event was merely one of our planned events for February, but it was definitely successful and well planned out by our fellow officers.
Thank you Editors for all your submissions always!

DEVIL'S HUGS & KISSES FUNDRAISER On February 13th and 14th, We distributed Valentine's Daythemed goodie bags! Thank you to everyone who picked up their orders, promoted the fundraiser to others, and / or donated to PTP!
