Jennifer Pham Middle College Grizz-Giving was held at Michael Faklis Park on November 21, 2021 from 1PM to 3PM. This was a joint interclub with McNair’s Key Club and Stockton Kiwanis! At this interclub, there was a Poncho icebreaker, a service project, a bonding session, and a raffle for pumpkin pie. Attendees who donated canned foods and stayed for the entirety of the interclub were eligible to enter the pumpkin pie raffle. President Jamie Lynn Phan and McNair’s Key Club President, Trish Vo, waited for attendees to arrive, and checked attendees in while collecting canned food. MCHSKC’s Peace Officer, Kimberly Truong, presented an icebreaker game for attendees to play called “Poncho.” As the game came to an end, all the members and officers headed towards the gazebo as both presidents from each club started off with their introductions. Members and officers dived into the first bonding session which included attendees to make turkey headbands. Members and officers took a five minute break to do whatever they wanted and many attendees could be seen playing on the playground or playing frisbee with other members. Around 2PM, we started our service which was Love Letters for Literacy that would be donated to Parklane Elementary School. Members and officers did service until the interclub was closing to an end. Around 2:50PM, the two key club presidents announced the pumpkin pie winners and all three winners were from Middle College! The presidents said their thank yous and acknowledged the advisors that came to support the Grizz-Giving Interclub.

Jennifer Pham Middle College Friends of the Library is a service opportunity that key clubbers can do service through. Members and officers can volunteer on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays! The local bookstore is open to the public on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays. This service opportunity is located at 1724 W Hammer Ln and they are still allowing up to four volunteers per shift time. Members who want to volunteer must contact Secretary Kiara Flores so she can contact the store owner, Jeff, to give him a heads up. Volunteers must wear a mask, social distance, and wear gloves throughout the entirety of their shift. As your shift starts, volunteers are greeted by the store owner, Jeff, and he assigns you a specific task to do during your shift. This specific task can include pricing books, pricing cds, cleaning new donated books, organizing/shelfting books, or ringing up customers. Depending on the level of experience you are as a volunteer, you can start ringing up customers when you come to volunteer often. This is a great service opportunity for key clubbers to do service through as you are helping out a local bookstore! Key clubbers are encouraged to volunteer at Friends of the Library to help Jeff out with the many donations he received on a daily basis.

MCHSKC’s last general meeting was held at Delta College’s West Forum from 5:05PM to 6:00PM. This meeting consisted of old business, new business, club goals, secretary report, service, Peace Officer activity, and watching a holiday movie. Vice President, Habeeb Khan, started off the meeting with the pledge salute. Our secretary, Kiara Flores, talked about December service projects, Friends of the Library, Animal Friends Connection Shelter and Petco Adoption, and Senior stole spreadsheets. She announced to the attendees that today was the last chance to submit community service papers and to turn in Love Letters for Literacy for Parklane at the end of the meeting. Our President, Jamie Lynn Phan, talked about Club News which included the Applebee’s Fundraiser and service. She dived right into division news and talked about Under the Sea-TC. Today was the first payment collection for attendees that were interested in going to DCON. Selene Wang was MCHSKC’s December member of the month! As we finished covering the agenda, our Peace Officers, Kimberly Truong and Addy Chanthakone, announced a game of charade for members to participate in. The executive and extended board were given different things to act out and
