Hi hi my Grizz-Bbs (for the last time ever), How are you all doing??!! Can you believe this is the last ever newsletter we will be releasing this term? When you guys read this, I will be a few days from retiring and my sweet Jamie Lynn Phan will be your guys' new Lieutenant Governor for the 20222023 term. I have extremely high hopes that Jamie will carry on the Grizzly legacy and take this division to new heights. It's truly been an honor serving you all for the past 12 months. You guys have made all of my efforts worth it; you all have made the long nights BEARable; and this Grizzly family has made me so proud. ... saying goodbye to the old term and welcoming This upcoming month, be prepared for DCON and Banquet the new term with open arms. Let's reflect on this term for both the bad and the good, learn from the challenges we've had to face along the way, and accept the lessons each one has taught us. From our first DCM which was held online, to the first DCM held in-person in a year-and-a-half, to the first Valorant tournament hosted by Division 27 North, to the last Grizzlies on Ice of this term, to the last DCM of this term, and to the last newsletter of this term, I am extremely grateful for those of you that have stuck with me through it all. You truly have made my experience as a Lieutenant Governor unforgettable. I am so excited to see what this new term has in store for you guys !! They say retirement is going to be bittersweet, but I'd have to disagree. This term has taught me that you will be faced with joy, heartbreak, anger, and any emotion you can ever think of, but the experiences you receive are once-in-a-lifetime. There is no bitter feeling when I come to appreciate all that this term has taught me. So although I'll be sad to say goodbye to you all as LTG, nothing is sweeter than knowing I'll be retiring from an extremely strong division with an extremely long line of great leadership to come. All of my love to the grizzlies of Division 27 North <3 - Hailey Phan, Mama Bear 2021-2022

Amazing job exceeding two out of our three goals this term !! Although our service hour goal wasn't reached, we still managed to exceed over half of the goal, which is still insanely good !! Keep up the amazing work, and remember, we are here to serve our homes, schools, and community. Never forget that :)

Articles & Visuals Jennifer Pham Middle College The Bee My Valentine Interclub took place on February 19th at Nelson Park. This event was hosted by Bear Creek, Tokay, and Middle Club Key Clubs from 1 to 3PM. There were Valentine's themed service projects and partner based bonding activities. Presidents Jamie Lynn Phan, Ruby Novero, and Julia Margaret greeted members as they walked in and assigned them a number for the partner bonding activity. After that, they introduced the marriage photobooth that was created by MCHSKC’s Historian, Jennifer Pham. The gazebo was decorated with streamers and the tables were decorated with cute Valentine’s Day themed table covers. We started off the fun event with a game of Soulmate, hosted by one of MCHSKC’s Peace Officers, Kimberly Truong. Pin-the-arrow on Cupid was the first bonding activity, in which each pair of partners had to direct their blindfolded partner to pin-the-arrow on Cupid with a heart. A point would be awarded to the partners who were closest to the cupid's heart. The following game featured charades, with each charade having a Valentine's Day theme. The final partner activity was a balloon-popping race, in which each team was required to tie a balloon to their ankles while working together to pop the balloons of the other partners. After that fun and intense activity, the three finalized groups played rock-paper-scissors to see who would win. Our first place group received a giant teddy bear and each group received goodie bags. We transitioned to our service project, where members made Valentine’s Day Themed Cards and had love notes to pass around. Towards the end of the event, members took a lot of photos at our cute photobooth! I can say this was a very successful interclub hosted by our Presidents, Jamie Lynn Phan, Ruby Novero, and Julia Margaret.

February DCM The Heart Eyed Grizzly DCM occurred on February 12th at American Legion Park. This fun event was held from 5:00 to 7:00PM, where members were able to watch the sunset with their friends! Members were required to wear a mask at all times and to bring their waiver form. Bringing a picnic blanket, wearing warm clothing and any sort of camera to capture this fun moment with your friends was optional. The attire was to wear Key Club casual. The event started off with three rounds of Soulmate hosted by one of our Spirit Task Coordinator, Habeeb Khan. Our Lieutenant Governor, Hailey Phan, went over monthly recognitions and Middle College Key Club was recognized as club of the month! After monthly recognitions, members had the choice of participating in partner service projects or hanging out with their friends. As music played in the background, members seemed to enjoy this fun event as many catched up with other members. This event was held to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Huge thank you to our advisor, Michele Dueltgen, for being present!

Middle College's First Meeting Back MCHSKC’s first general meeting was held at West Forum from 5:05-5:30 PM on February 7th. We started off the meeting with the Key Club pledge presented by our Vice President, Habeeb Khan. We dived right into our ice breaker which consisted of members in each column to create a 15-second TikTok dance. Each column had one leader, who had to ensure their column danced consistently and in sync. The executive board participated in this icebreaker as they went last to show all the members what they had to offer! After our fun icebreaker held by Adelyna Chathankone and Kimberly Truong, we went over member reflections, club news, secretary report, club and division news and finally district news. MCHSKC has a program where we recognize outstanding members each month to praise them for their hard work. The member of the month went to Aashna Singh. We discussed executive board positions near the end of our meeting, which included President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer positions. Our current executive board went into detail on what they do with their position as their term is sadly coming towards the end.
