MEET THE

LT. GOVERNOR Hello, Division 27 North! My name is Jamie Lynn Phan and I am ecstatic to be serving as your D27N Lt. Governor for the 2022-23 term. I am from Middle College Key Club and I previously served as Club President for the 2021-22 term (was also Hailey's successor then). I can't wait to embark on this fresh, new year in Key Club and grow connections with you all! I truly hope that you all will create more lasting Key Club memories as you grow into even more capable, impactful leaders for the community. For the last month, it was as unpredictable as our current Cali weather: I attended DCON with a lot of you and said goodbye to Mama Bear Hailey; I persevered through a weeks of uncertainty about our DCM's venue; I hosted our very first 'Head in the Clouds' April DCM & Banquet with Division 27 South and sobbed (horrific sight); you Officers have been transitioning into your new roles. What a way to kick off my term as your LTG?! I want to say thank you to all Advisors, Officers and Members who have been patient with me as I acclimated to my new responsibilities to you and your Clubs. Once more, I want to acknowledge how proud I am of our Division for what we accomplished within our community with Hailey leading us. I am honored to call myself your next Mama Bear! For this month of May. I hope to see my new Advisors & Officers comfortably transitioned into their positions. Remember that I am always here to support you if you ever need ANYTHING. I am always one text, call or email away and I will try my best to get back to you as soon as I can.

ARTICLES & VISUALS SCAVENGER HUNT DCM | 032622

BY: JENNIFER PHAM, MIDDLE COLLEGE

IP 21-22 HISTORIAN & 22-23 TREASURER

The March DCM was held at Health Careers Academy on March 26th from 3-5 PM. Members were required to wear their mask at all times, bring their COVID waiver form, and have a friend to do the scavenger hunt with! This event was the last DCM of the term and it was held by our Lieutenant Governor Hailey Phan. In this DCM, members were able to reminisce on the past term by searching the venue for items that correlate with each month. For example, people found tutus and were able to relate it to October, when we had Fall Rally North. During the DCM portion, monthly recognitions occurred and President Jamie Lynn Phan was awarded officer of the month! The scavenger hunt was up next and members had to scout the area for the various items. Unfortunately, no one was able to find items for all the months but members were able to combine their items to total up to those 8 months. Members would receive a prize for winning the scavenger hunt. It was fun seeing all the members' faces light up when finding a hidden item. Since this was the last DCM of the term, this was also our Lieutenant Governor, Hailey Phan’s, last DCM ever.

DISTRICT CONVENTION | 04/1 TO 04/3 BY: JENNIFER PHAM, MIDDLE COLLEGE

IP 21-22 HISTORIAN & 22-23 TREASURER

The first week of April started off with the most iconic event, DCON! The CNH District Convention also known as DCON was held at Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. This was a three-day District event from April 1-3rd. As an LTG/LTG elect, you were required to come a day early to attend a 6-hour training with 70+ other LTGs of our District. On Friday, as members from all over Cali-Nev-Hawaii began to check-in, there were educational workshops and a General Session in which AJ Rafael attended live via Zoom. AJ actually gave Region 16 a shoutout which was super cool! Several District Board Officers like District Governor Amy Wang, welcomed members to the convention. Members had the opportunity to meet some of the District Executive Candidates as well. On Saturday, Nolan Parker, and Lieutenant Governor Elect, Jamie Lynn Phan, represented our home club as a Delegate at the House of Delegates in which they participated in a caucus session after listening to Candidate speeches. They had the honor to vote for our next District Secretary, Treasurer and Governor! As this occurred, even more educational workshops occurred for attendees to benefit from. Topics included efficient communication, how to tell your parents about Key Club, and more! In the evening, there was a Recognition General Session in which awards were bestowed to Members, Clubs, Officers and Advisors. Many officers from our home club were recognized which was amazing! There was also a General Session about the Kiwanis Family Tree in which members listened to speeches from the Kiwanis, Circle K, and Kiwanis DGovs. Sunday was a day filled with tears for many people. District Governor, Amy Wang, graced the stage for the last time as she announced the new District Execs. There were many hearts aching as Hailey Phan and the other LTGs retired and Jamie Lynn Phan became officially installed. The retired Lieutenant Governors stood in a long line forming houses with their hands for the new Lieutenant Governors to run under. Many members will never forget the feeling of the tight hugs and the shoulders cries at DCON. To say the least, DCON was such an unforgettable moment for members!

FIRST GENERAL MEETING OF THE NEW TERM | 040422 BY: JENNIFER PHAM, MIDDLE COLLEGE

IP 21-22 HISTORIAN & 22-23 TREASURER

MCHSKC’s first meeting with the new executive board was held on April 4th at West Forum. The new executive board consisted of President Kiara Flores, Vice President Britney Le. Secretary Kimberly Truong, and Treasurer Jennifer Pham. The meeting started off with Vice President Britney Le leading the Key Club pledge. We dived right into our fun icebreaker which was 2 truths, 1 lie about the new executive board. After our icebreaker, we talked about DCON reflections, old business and new business like Club news, Division news, and District news. DCON awards were distributed to our members who were recognized at DCON for their amazing works. Our club was recognized for Membership Growth, Club of the Year, 100% on-time Submissions, and Early Bird Dues! Vice President, Britney Le, earned Distinguished Treasurer and Division Website. Our new Lieutenant Governor, Jamie Lynn Phan, was awarded as Outstanding President from her previous term as President. Our Webmaster, Saliphena Allieu, won the Distinguished Club Website. Lastly our IP Lieutenant Governor, Hailey Phan, won the Robert F Lucas Outstanding LTG and the Kenneth C Forror, MD Scholarship of $1250!
