FALL RALLY NORTH > How can you prepare for fall rally north? - Bring money! Many activities cost money at Fall Rally North, it is at Six Flags after all! Be sure to bring money if you will be buying things like food or souvenirs! - Practice Cheers! In each newsletter leading up to Fall Rally North, there will be featured cheers for members to learn! On your own time, remember to practice, practice, practice! - Make Your Own Spirit Gear! Be ready to cheer your heart out and be decked out in spirit by creating your own spirit gear (tutus, spirit sticks, bear ears etc!)

IMPORTANT RESTRICTIONS !

- No social media tags on spirit sticks or signs (You can still share social media tags!) - No free hug signs (You may still hug!) - No pins (We wouldn't want any animals or humans getting hurt by pins left on the ground.)

What exactly happens during the rally? Thousands of members gather at each of the two theme parks on their selected day, one in October, one in November. At Fall Rally North and South, LTGs and Executive officers are "auctioned" off to Divisions; the winning Division is able to then spend a designated period of time with the "purchased" officer. Auction funds and a portion of the ticket sales for both events go towards the Pediatric Trauma Program. Then, the divisions present at Fall Rally North will compete for the FRN Spirit Stick through cheers. Each Division has their own cheers, there are Round 1 Cheers (Shortest, used in the beginning to decide who moves on to the next round), Round 2 Cheers (Medium, next round) , and Round 3 Cheers (Longest, used to determine winner if we make it to round 3). The Judges will judge on how loud, clear, and spirited we are.

SPIRIT TRAINING CONFERENCE ABBY TRAN // LINCOLN Spirit Training Conference occurred on September 8th from 12:00 PM - 2:30 PM at American Legion Park. The entire day was spent learning cheers and chants that are required for Fall Rally North and Region Training Conference. Not only was it just a day to learn cheers, it also involved a coin war. A coin war is where each of the 11 schools bring any change and extra money to donate to the Pediatric Trauma Program. Whichever school brought in the most money per person, wins. And the winner was‌ Health Careers Academy! Seeing everyone cheer for the winner and be supportive was an amazing sight. The new Key Clubbers definitely were able to have a sneak peak at the spirit side of Key Club and shouted their lungs in preparation for the biggest events of the year. Everyone left with a little more spirit and a little less voice... That’s the spirit of Key Club!

Grizzlies On Ice

TEYA WASEL

MIDDLE COLLEGE

On September 14th, Division 27 North held a Grizzlies on Ice PTP Fundraiser from 3:00P.M. to 5:00P.M. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed ice skating and I personally had a BEARy great time with all the grizzlies! Although many of us fell on the ice, we had all our friends to help us keep our balance. Whenever someone fell we would go help them and end up bursting in laughter. I noticed that many new grizzlies had attended and they all loved their first Key Club event! At the event, we had over 90 people who came out and had an amazing experience! Many of us lost our balance but we had all of

our friends to keep us up. There were many grizzlies who held each-other and started a train that grew by the second! Whenever someone would trip the whole train would fall like dominos and it was really amusing to watch. Additionally, there were many people who assisted their other friends with skating along the way because it was their first time on ice. For me personally, I held on to a couple of my friends and I am BEARy greatful that everyone in Division 27 North are like my second family! A BEARy big thank you to all the grizzlies who came out and ice skated to help raise money for the Pediatric Trauma Program. I can’t wait to see you all again at our upcoming events!

TRICK OR TREAT This fundraiser involves Key Clubbers going door to door during Halloween to ask for small donations towards UNICEF. Spotlight On Service This Month’s Focus “ Pediatric Trauma Program The Pediatric Trauma Program, also known as PTP, is one of Cali-Nev-Ha's major emphases within the district. The mission of PTP is to decrease the number of children who are injured or killed due to accidental injuries -- children who sustain great physical trauma. These accidents can be prevented by providing resources and proper training. Money fundraised for PTP goes towards proper training of doctors, nurses, and first responders, and the purchasing of essential safety equipment.

The CNH District provides all clubs with the chance to be recognized for their participation in community service and the SOSP Monthly Focus. Each month, there is a designated theme that clubs are encouraged to plan and align service around. This allows for clubs to participate in a variety of service projects throughout the year.

The mission of the Pediatric Trauma Program is to develop local projects that will reduce the number of children killed or injured by trauma, helping all children live happy, healthy, and safe lives.

1. PTP dolls! They help children going through tough times. With the fabric, stuff ing, and sewing materials, you can have a fun service event! 2. Playground Posters! Create posters of general rules for children to follow while on the playground and post them on the walls of your local elementary school. 3. Helmet Decoration! Hold a bike helmet decorating event where members bring in bike helmets and materials to decorate them, then donate them to any local organiza tions or schools that can distribute them to children.

August DCM CLAIRE RASAMEE // SECA Donate, commit to service, and cheer! SECA Key Clubbers had to bring a bag of recyclables to Matt Equinoa Park. Taking place in the afternoon, the Key Clubbers that attended stayed to cheer with all their spirit even in the humid weather. It was followed by ice-breakers, which helped each Key Clubber get acquainted with each other. After introductions had taken place, schools could hear each schedule of other highschools during the DCM. Key Clubbers displayed full interest and encouragement throughout the process of each school getting to represent their school and club. Then, there was spirit chant practice which helped invigorate enthusiasm even in the blazing hot sun. However to cool off, there were water balloons made for each Key Clubber to participate in a game. The game was a water balloon throwing match which made each person pick a partner and start throwing, increasing the distance with each successful toss. If a person was not lucky enough, they would be drenched in an unsuspecting way. The event concluded with making bookmarks, which was part of service that everyone could be a part in. With the attendance of many Key Clubbers, there were plenty to be designed and distributed in order to make an impact in the community.
