Spotlight on Service Pediatric Trauma Program

Events -> Informative Day You can host an Information fair that discusses the importance of the Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP).

Fundraising Fundraising is very important to Key Club because it helps with fundraising for PTP. Most of the money that we fundraise is for PTP so they can continue saving lives. It is an amazing program that helps children with traumatic experiences.

Here are some way you can fundraise: Panda Express, Boba Places, Pizza Factories, Small Businesses, Chipotle Raffles, Candies, Go Fund Me, Stickers, Auntie Anne's

The Grizzlies at the Park was Middle College Key Club’s first in-person event. President Jamie Lynn Phan and Vice President Habeeb Khan greeted members and officers, followed by an icebreaker featuring our two peace officers. Some members and officers from McNair’s Key Club joined us for the event which was held at Matt Equinoa Park from 7am-11pm. After the greetings, we dived right into service by cleaning up the park for an hour. Then, members and officers took a quick 15 minute water break which led to another “Ha'' ice breaker. There was a surprise spirit battle session led by Kimberly Truong, Amy Do, and Trish Vo. The attendees had the option of continuing to clean up the park or two other service activities which included rock-painting and

color-me-a-smile worksheets. As we raised enough money for PTP, MCHSKC board members had to be sprayed with water. While Middle College advisor, Michele Dueltgen, and Bruce Mercado got pied in the face with shaving cream. Members and officers were able to purchase a cold water bottle drink for 50 cents or voluntarily donate to PTP with any amount they desire. President Jamie Lynn Phan thanked the attendees that attended and promoted the Frosted Luv Fundraiser.

On July 8th, both McNair and St. Mary’s came together for an online interclub via Zoom! Our board and some general members attended this interclub, and we got to know some of the St. Mary’s board as well. First, we took the time to introduce ourselves and talk about our plans for the rest of summer break. Afterwards, St. Mary’s president, Marianne Romero, announced that we would be watching ParaNorman for the duration of the interclub. She also announced that, while watching the movie, there was an opportunity to earn service hours through the program, Free Rice. While watching the movie, we ran into a slight technical difficulty, as personal Zoom meetings often last only forty-five minutes. However, this issue was solved rather quickly, and we were back on track with watching ParaNorman while completing questions on Free Rice to earn service.

The Lei Back and Relax July DCM was held at Michael Faklis Park. The beginning of the July DCM kicked off with our new division spirit coordinators, Peter Nguyen and Habeeb Khan, who gave the attendees a handful of icebreakers to play. As things dialed down, monthly recognition was given out, with Middle College taking first place for club of the quarter, Ben Holt coming in second, and Lodi High coming in third. The spirit team was introduced in which members and officers graduated for the new upcoming term. Following that, a spirit session began, in which two groups competed against one other. Members and officers learned two supportive cheers and two round one cheers. The biggest part of the DCM was being able to raise $438 for pieing the DLT. There were 106 cans donated and collected. A huge thanks to Dan Lane and Shad Canestrino who donated $350.
