LTG REMARKS
“PUMP, PUMP, PUMP IT UP! PUMP THAT GRIZZLY SPIRIT UP! Hellooooooo Grizzlies! As you all are aware, Fall Rally North 2013 has just passed. Spirit stick or no spirit stick, I want you to know that you are all true winners. Standing (and jumping, hehe) on that stage, I was filled with the greatest pride any LTG could ever experience. We were a force to be reckoned with, and even after being eliminated, we were the only division to cheer ‘G-DOUBLE-O-D J-O-B, GOOD JOB! GOOD JOB!’ for the winning division. You each possess the most ferocity and modesty out of any members I’ve ever seen. Congratulations on your win, Grizzlies! And anyway, it’s the fun that counts ;D I hope everyone had a huge blast, and that the underclassmen choose to go next year (and bring more friends)! Now, unfortunately, it’s a common trend within clubs for members to become inactive after this specific event. But, after seeing the spirit of Key Club in action at FRN, that won’t happen to us, riiight? In all seriousness, I would like for you, both underclassmen and seniors, to use Fall Rally as your inspiration to continue being amazing Key Clubbers; to continue being a part of the fabulous ohana you got to meet at Six Flags; to continue serving your home, school, and community. Thank you for all you’ve done so far, for your home club, your division, and your district, but remember, the year’s not over yet-
“KEEP, KEEP, KEEP IT UP! KEEP THAT GRIZZLY SPIRIT UP!”

BENJAMIN HOLT
Hello Key Clubbers of Division 27 North! My name is Emybeth Pascual and I am the founding president of Benjamin Holt College Preparatory Academy’s Key Club, or Ben Holt Key Club for short! I am currently a Junior, and our club has been officially chartered as of October 2, 2013. Our school wanted to pursue Key Club to promote leadership and giving back to the community. With the help of Division 27 South’s LTG. Darin Ngo, I got in contact with LTG. Demaree Ramos, and we worked together to make Key Club possible! We hope to be a great addition to your Key Club family, and to have fun with you
BEAR CREEK
U P D A T E S
Hi Key Clubbers! This past month Bear Creek helped out at Coastal Clean-Up at Sandman Park. At the event our members helped pick up trash around the area and paint over graffiti on wooden fences. It was great having so many people come out to help our environment. A couple of us also helped out at the Lodi Library by serving dinners to donators. We also had members attend RTC which was a really fun experience. The workshops were very helpful and informative and on top of that we were able to meet a lot of people from our Region family. Many members also went to Grizzlies on Ice and had a blast watching key clobbers skate together.
MCNAIR
This past month we have had a fair amount of community service events. We assisted Lodi Library by cleaning up after their dinner, volunteered over at Coastal Cleanup, and that same day we helped with the Bread of Life volunteers. We’ve had a well amount of members go to Grizzlies on Ice and CTF for our division events. For RTC we had over 20 members attend from our school. This coming month our club will be looking forward to Fall Rally which we have over 50 people going.

LODI
This month the Lodi High Key Club has been working very hard. We attended the annual capture the flag event in the beginning of the month and Grizzlies on Ice towards the end for some good fun with the division. On the same day as Grizzlies on Ice we were out in Stockton with St. Joseph’s hospital to help with their annual Family Day at the Park. We also attended our Region 16 Training Conference this month and had a great time learning new skills and even making caped for a region wide service project to send these capes to children at local hospitals. While attending all these event we finished our Gold Canyon fundraiser where we raised over one thousand dollars to benefit membership fees, Fall Rally fees, and most importantly for PTP donations. We are working on joint projects with other Lodi High school organizations and currently setting up new service opportunities for future months to come!
CHAVEZ
Hey Grizzlies! This month, we volunteered at Golden Haven’s annual Senior Citizen Prom, the Health and Wellness Fair, and Making Strides for Breast Cancer. We’re still looking for more events for the holidays so be prepared for a month of giving and fun!
SECA
Hey there, Grizzlies! September was jam-packed with service for the SECA Key Club. This past month, we volunteered at the Heart Walk, Greek Festival, Health and Wellness Family Festival, Bread of Life, and a community luncheon at First Presbyterian Church. We were so active in the community in September, and I hope this Key Club spirit continues for the rest of the year. Several of us also attended Grizzlies on Ice and had a wonderful time ice-skating and bonding with the division. Although I was the only SECA Key Clubber at RTC, I had fun and gained much knowledge that will allow me to better serve my members. I look forward to seeing all you Grizzly bears at the October DCM and FALL RALLY NORTH!

LINCOLN
Hello Grizzlies! On October 3rd, we volunteered with the El Dorado Kiwanis Club at the Quail Lakes Baptist Church and helped them fill bags for the Special Day on the Farm event. This month, we are volunteering at many of our school district’s elementary schools and helping them out with their school carnivals. At our club rush, we had about 185 people sign up for Key Club which is double what we had last year! We held a new members meeting the week after club rush in order to introduce them to Key Club. Our school’s Homecoming theme was Disney so our club chose Winnie the Pooh as our booth theme in honor of our lovely bear mascot. We sold honey buns and Ari-
TOKAY
Hey Grizzlies! So for this past month we got to attend many events. First off, some of us got to compete in the Capture the Flag Tournament, which was really fun. Then, we helped out the Go Green Club on our campus in participating in The annual Coastal Cleanup at Lodi Lake. People went around in groups collecting any trash they found and making sure it was properly disposed. The same day, some of us attended Grizzlies on Ice. Then we got to go to RTC. We found it very informational and we were glad we attended. Now we are looking forward to seeing everyone at Fall Rally!
MIDDLE COLLEGE
Our club held it’s annual Installation Picnic on September 7th where we welcomed our new Freshman members with a day full of food and fun under the sun :D. We also had a small fundraiser where we raffled off various prizes which were generously donated by our officers and made over $100 for PTP. Speaking of which, our club had the largest number of attendees at the division-wide Grizzlies on Ice event that was held on September 22nd and I speak for our members when I say we surely had an enjoyable time with our fellow Grizzlies FUNdraising for PTP! In addition, we had 16 members from our club attend the Region Training Conference on September 28th at Elk Grove and enjoyed the educational workshops, region-wide service event, and dance that were made available to us on that day. Unfortunately, we had no service events this month but there’s no reason to fret because we already have plenty of them planned for the following months! We’re still in the transition period with our faculty advisor but we’re slowly but surely getting into the swing of things so you can definitely expect increased activity from our club soon!

SERVICE ARTICLES Thomas Hoang | SECA | Bread of Life The Bread of Life event was an amazing volunteering opportunity for my fellow SECA Key Clubbers and me. In the first hour and a half, we packed fruits and vegetables into bags and tossed them into a crate. After we finished packing all those fruits and vegetables, a few of us started helping in the back, packing dairy and meat products. The rest of us grabbed a shopping cart and helped low-income members of the community with their groceries. We took our shopping carts, went through a type of assembly line, and groceries were put into our carts. Once our carts were full, we were assigned a person to follow, followed them back to their car, and unloaded the groceries for them. It was a fun event and it felt great helping my community. I would love to do it again.

Adolf Medrano | McNair | Costal Clean-up This was my first time attending our annual Coastal Clean-up, and I must say that it was an amazing experience! Despite the fact that we were cleaning up garbage, somehow we still found ways to make it fun. It felt satisfying to help clean up around our very own Mosher Slough, overall protecting our local environment. We assisted in picking up broken glass, cigarette butts, and other miscellaneous items that were harmful to the Slough. I had an amazing time, and I can’t wait to volunteer next year!
Elaine Zhang | McNair | Lodi Library Clean-up Volunteering at the Lodi Library Cleanup was a fulfilling and fun experience. We had to assist the librarians with collecting glasses, breaking down tables and chairs, and the rearrangement of furniture. Putting away all of the wine cups, champagne glasses, and mocha glasses was fun because we needed to fit them in to the appropriate cases like a puzzle. After putting away all of the drinking glasses, we folded up tables and chairs. The chairs were stacked and placed to the side while we arranged conference chairs in 7x5 rows. Everyone there was hardworking and efficient which explains why we finished an hour earlier than planned. I look forward to helping out the Lodi Library again.
