LTG INTRODUCTION Table of Contents

Bonjour, Phoenixes! It's already August?! I guess you know what that means ... that's right! School is coming bluntly from right around the corner, and this is the perfect opportunity to get back into action! Get your school pumped up with some Key Club spirit! Show them what Key Club is all about and have them see the cheers that we come up with and how beautiful "the magic of service" is really all about. Incoming high schoolers and prospective members are always around us, so try and get them into the absolute best club out there! Let me tell you a little about my time at International Convention because it was absolutely an amazing experience and an event so great that you do not want to miss it next year in ORLANDO, FLORIDA! My time at International Convention was most definitely something to behold. Being out of Las Vegas and into the third state I have ever been in was already amazing enough but to stay in a resort with four swimming pools, crazy roommates, people in my regional team, and some of the most unforgettable people who made my stay at Phoenix, AZ one of the best ever; that just took the cake. I learned so much from attending such as new ideas for service, Children's Miracle Network and how we can help them, and more in-depth information about Project Eliminate. It was most definitely worth the week out of my summer, and I highly encourage for all of you to attend. Other than that, please remember to help your community one step at a time, eat your vegetables, brush your teeth three times a day or more, don't let the bed bugs bite, and to try to be the best person you can be everyday, Phoenixes! (:

T-shirt/Sweater/Lanyard Designs Are you interested in having an idea of yours put onto an article of clothing like a t-shirt, sweater, or lanyard? We are in great need of designs for the new year so that we can implement some longawaited divisional merchandise into Division 28 North!

For T-shirts and Sweaters: NAVY BLUE and ORANGE are highly recommended as the main colors for the design, but feel free to show off your creativity. • Please limit yourself to 4-5 COLORS when creating a design. More colors on the clothes mean that they will be more expensive to purchase and will cause some problems! • Make sure to include the Phoenix, Key Club Logo, the names of all D28N schools (please ask if you do need a list of the schools), and the phrase "DIVISION 28 NORTH" because these are required. • T-SHIRTS should have a front and back, and it is highly encouraged for sweaters as well, but not required! •

For Lanyards: •

Make a little Phoenix Icon / Figure! It doesn't matter whether it is scary, cute, cool-looking, adorable, or detailed! As long as it's an icon, we'll be able to put that on the lanyard! Division 28 North must be on this lanyard in any font you want.

Your design will be represented all over Division 28 North as well as the Cali-Nev-Ha District! Submit

your designs to the LTG, Jarren Santos, by

AUGUST 12TH!!!

BURNING UP THE SKIES, SERVICE NEVER DIES! Page 3

June Club Snapshots Advanced Technologies Academy This month our Key Club hasn't been active much. Summer is here and people are on vacation and out of town. But we still have some outstanding members that are doing community service that are staying in town. Members volunteered at pre-schools and read to the kids there, worked on the summer program at the library, tutored children in the area of math, and also one memeber helped the environment by picking up the trash and helping to clean the water. Even though it may not be much volunteering but it still helped many and improved the environment. This month is also International Convention, one of our Key Club members is currently attending and bring D28N spirit to international Key Club. Special thanks to LTG Jarren Santos! Next month, as a club, we plan to look for more opportunities for community service and also we encouraged our members to volunteer even doing the summer.

East Career and Technical Academy For the month of June, it was the start of the summer and time to come up with project ideas for key club! Our club has been communicating with LVYP and CKI to collaborate on new projects this summer, but they have been pretty busy during the month of June. We decided to make that up by working on a project sometime this July. Although everyone's out trying to have an awesome summer, we are still updating our club members about upcoming events and possible projects to get more hours. We plan on getting as many hours as we can during the summer, just to kick off a good start of this coming up school year!
