EDITOR’S MESSAGE

PHOENIXES!

First quarter of senior year is definitely kicking my butt, but it is alright because guess what is right around the corner? Regional Training Conference, October DCM, and Fall Rally South! It is a bit bittersweet knowing that all of these will be the last ones of its kind in my Key Club career (except for Fall Rally, I’ll be a first-timer in November!). I hope to see all of you continue excelling in your academics, service, and club activities. This month, we have two new division members: Richard Wang and Vincent Tan from Advanced Technologies Academy. Remember to join our Facebook page and Google group. Contact information will be on the back page as always. Keep soaring, phoenixes!

LETTER FR. LTG

LETTER FROM THE LTG

Aloha Phoenixes! Hope you're all having a great time back to school! I hope that you're all ready for Regional Training Conference! This year's theme, is "Dr. Seuss", "Oh the service you'll do"! The purpose of this theme is to portray that service is never-ending and that through our journey in Key Club, we gain the necessary skills to become caring, competent leaders that always strive to improve our homes, schools, and communities. We'll have many great opportunities at this year's RTC within our seminars, covering topics like Key Leader, BEEing a leader, and Public Speaking! If you're able to attend RTC and you're ready to have more fun, plan ahead to attend our upcoming Division Council Meeting October 13th, at Rancho High School! We'll be learning cheers for Magic Mountain, Fall Rally South! Fall Rally is a big event where our money is donated to the Pediatric Trauma Program, and we can hang out with California and Hawai'i! There will also be a big spirit rally against other divisions, so we'll need to BEE prepared to win! At the spirit rally, we'll also have an ''Buy a Lt. Governor'', where all donated money for PTP is used to buy an Lt. Governor! After our spirit rally, members are free to roam around Six Flags for the whole day! You may only attend if you have attended RTC this year, because you can't just join our service organization without knowing what we're all about right? So save up, and raise club money to help your members attend Fall Rally South! I can't wait to see everyone's spirit at RTC!

DLT ADDITIONS

Richard Wang Division 28 North DCM Task Coordinator 2015-2016

Hello! My name is Vincent Tan and I'll be serving as your Division 28 North Task Coordinators of Member Relations. My goals for applying for this position include being able to create a better bonded division, being able to keep up to date on what clubs do, and keeping our social media, like Facebook and Twitter, up to date as well. I feel like as a division, not all clubs are active, but since I love using social media so much, I would like to be able to communicate with other clubs presidents to see if 1, they are still active, and 2, what they have planned. This is all coming from someone who uses a lot of social media so that isn't a big problem. And since I love using social media too much, I will be able to keep up to date on what we do on Facebook, Twitter, and what not. I can't wait to be able to work alongside each of the clubs in our division during the year of 2015-2016 school year!

INTRODUCING...

Hello D28N! My name is Richard Wang and I will be serving as your 2015-2016 Division DCM Task Coordinator. My goals this year are to create new enjoyable schedules for DCMs, encourage inter-club member relations at DCMS, and provide convenient reminders to ensure club attendance at DCMs. I truly believe that with a spirited attitude and undying commitment, we can definitely make our DCMs a place for both official reports and fun social interaction between members. I promise to do my very best in providing quality events and activities at DCMs and I hope that this 2015-2016 Key Club year will be filled with nothing but quality service to our community and everlasting bonds between each club and member. I have many exciting events planned for our future DCMs, so please, get your spirit on and attend whenever you can!

YIP KC STORY

Hi guys, it’s your Division 28 North Executive Assistant here! My Key Club story starts off the second day of freshman year. While I joined Key Club that year, I wasn’t necessarily very active in Key Club, which, to my detriment, resulted in me not attending RTC or Fall Rally, nor attending many service events, and I barely qualified as a Key Club member. Despite this, towards the end of the year, I began to realize that I enjoyed being in Key Club. Thus, I ran for Club Treasurer. Admittedly, I did a very poor job, because my dedication still wasn’t there. Near the end of sophomore year, the spirit I noticed in Jazlynn and Rey Rey inspired me to be a more active Key Club member, and while originally, I became my club’s Vice President, I decided to resign the position for a chance at being the Division Executive Assistant, and well, that’s where I am now!

RTC PREVIEW

One of the definite highlights of going back to school is Regional Training Conference. It is a day filled to the brim with anticipation, knowledge, and spirit. Key Clubbers sit through informative presentations on Key Club, leadership, and service. After the training conference, there is the spirit rally where clubs from each division cheer their hearts out and try for their division’s spirit stick. I 100% guarantee RTC to be one of the most intense and fervorous experiences you will ever come across in your whole high school career. RTC is currently planned for October 3, 2015 at Green Valley High School. Keep in mind that the October SAT is also on this date.
