Recent Events September DCM! A D28N DCM was held at Rancho on September 13, 2011. It was very exciting for our officers due to the fact that we weren't able to hold a DCM last year; it was a great experience to be there to help set up and such, and the turn out was nice too. Rancho was incredibly surprised when we won the spirit stick though, but we're happy we won Club of The Month :3 It was also fun being able to meet some new key clubbers and catch up with old ones, just like one happy family! - Lalisa Nopkars, Key Club Secretary, Rancho Photo Credits: JingHan Zhu, Bulletin Editor, Rancho

Kiwanis Installation Dinner On September 16, Friday, I was given the esteemed chance to attend the Kiwanis Installation Dinner held by the Kiwanis Immediate-Past Lieutenant Governor of Division 28, David Dwyer. There, they installed the new Lieutenant Governor for Division 28, Len Yelnik, and five other Kiwanis Clubs that took the transition of passing their job onto the next officers. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Kiwanis Installation because of the great atmosphere of the people around me. A social was held an hour before the actual dinner started so I was able to meet some new individuals that I won’t ever forget. I also got to meet up with some of the UNLV Circle K members and enjoy dinner with them as well. Connecting with the Kiwanis family extremely warms my heart up and makes me reflect on how I want to be just as generous, thoughtful, and extraordinary as these individuals that I had the chance to meet. Thank you, my beloved Kiwanians! -Jarren Santos, D28N LTG, A-tech

August Club Snapshots Legacy High School August has been an exciting month for our club! During our board meeting this month, we were able to plan many things for September, plan for service projects in general, and also we were able to decide on a shirt design! We're excited to get the shirts made and start showing our Key Club spirit. Furthermore, this month we were also invited to the Student Council Retreat. The Stuco Retreat was a sleep over at the school where we played games, made posters, and started to build a bond with our school student council. Freshmen Orientation also took place this month the week before school started! Everyone who helped at our Key Club booth had a ton of fun cheering and inviting people in to join the club! We had a total of about 73 sign-ups and we were able to spread the word of Key Club to people from other clubs, too. Additionally, as the school year was about to start, a few members and officers helped out some teachers move in and decorate their rooms; and we also had an officer volunteer at the Las Vegas Cinefest. He helped out serving as a Q&A coordinator and as security, and he describes the experience to be a blast! Basically, this month we've been actively promoting our club and it seems we are succeeding! Many people have been asking about Key Club and our first meeting, and it is getting us pumped to see that there are so many new faces interested in joining our club! We are very

East Career & Technical Academy A new school year has arrived which means it's that time of year to recruit new members and serve all year long. During the last month of Summer, our President has started three service projects. The most successful ones so far are the Supplying Our Next Einsteins and the Las Vegas Cinefest 2011. For the Supplying Our Next Einsteins, we have accumulated more than 80 supplies with only seven members! We plan to donate them towards a nearby elementary school of our choice for their future usage. For the Cinefest, we had a few members work at the Tropicana Casino and Hotel from August 25-27. Luckily, Vice President Jannellynn Garcia found out of this event since her aunt and uncle were some the of main coordinators. Not only we helped ushered and with registration but we did so with other members within our divisions including LTG Jarren L. Santos. We also had an interclub with Las Vegas High School on September 1, 2011. We plan on working with our neighboring school to have a strong relationship with them and the develop and strengthen each other's strengths and weaknesses. So far our President and our Board have been working on advertising our first general meeting which is to be held this upcoming Wednesday. Member Amal Abdule has been a great contributor to the success of the advertisement. She has not only helped created flyers and posters but has broadcasted this as well! According to President Angela dela Cruz, Amal has been like her right hand women when it comes to Key Club, as if she was a Vice President. Even though she is a member, her work and dedication towards the club shines, which in the President's perspective, makes her a perfect candidate for Member of the Month.
