Let’s try to be even more involved with Key Club and accomplish our goals in 2019!

LTG MESSAGE

Letter from the LTG

Hello Narwhals! Winter break is here or for some almost there! I hope you all did well on your finals and have a great time with your friends and family! I want to say how proud of the division I serve for the accomplishments we have made thus far. Our PTP goal achieved, dues paid early, and record-breaking DCM attendance! This is incredible and I believe that we can achieve so much more. Remember to submit service hours to secretaries so they are being accounted for! Take the time during your winter break to help those in need this holiday season because it is the best time to do so! It's also crazy how time flies because the election of the next term's LTG is and District recognition is coming up! If you're an officer, take your winter break to think about how you want to make improvements for the rest of your term and for the new year coming around the corner. How will you achieve your goals? How will I work with member retention? There is only so much of the term left and you want to make the most of it. Take opportunities! Try new things that have never been done before! Adventure out! Can't wait to see what more you all will do and I will see all of you narwhals next year!

CLUB RECAP

Moorpark High School

As well as having a great time at Fall Rally, our club still did what we could for the community this past month. Our biggest service project was that one of our members collected donations to be sent to children in Guatemala. Students, teachers, and Kiwanis members all came together to collect toys, shoes, and money for those in need. Our club came together by doing something good for the world around us.

CLUB RECAP

Agoura High School

This month, our members continued to make dog toys for local animal shelters. We also began a new service project, which is making cards for Cards for Hospitalized Kids, an organization that sends cards to hospitalized children across the country. Because it is the holiday season, we made holiday cards. Many members participated in both projects and they have been great opportunities to give back during our weekly meetings.

CLUB RECAP

Royal High School

Our very own Rachel Braswell was awarded a certificate of recognition by the california state assemblyman, Dante Acosta. She supported our local “social feed which is an organization who provided normal everyday citizens an easy way to be apart of the community by growing and donating sweet potatoes for the homeless. Her willingness to serve and her dedication to her community reflects the values that we as the Royal High Key Club hold. Congratulations to Rachel Braswell!

CLUB RECAP

Royal High School

Our Royal High Key Club decided to recognize those in our club who go above and beyond the call of duty for their community. They not only showed core values of a Key Club member but they showed an abundance of love for their communities. We are glad that these dedicated students serve the community well, always with big smiles on their faces. We hope that they continue to rise above the rest in their communities and represent Key Club well!

CLUB RECAP

Westlake High School

Ventura County Rescue Mission For the month of November our Key Club volunteered and brought pies to the Ventura County Rescue Mission. Usually, this is where volunteers set up tables and serve dishes to the habitants of a rehabilitation center. Later, they also feed the homeless people of the area. They also help with making food and cleaning up afterwards. However, in addition to this, the people we served got a special dessert treat after their warm meal in the spirit of Thanksgiving.

CLUB RECAP

Westlake High School

Keysgiving In celebration of service and Thanksgiving, our Key Club and the K Kids joined together for a holiday potluck. All together, we continued several ongoing projects. For example, we collected food for manna, made dog toys to donate to the shelter, and wrote letters to Santa that help raise money for the Make a Wish Program. Most of all, it was an absolutely fantastic event where everyone had fun getting to know each other while contributing to our community.
