What’s poppin narwhals! First off, I hope you are all enjoying your “stay-at-home” summers! While it may be difficult to do things as we usually would, as Key Club members, I expect that all of you have not lost any of that fiery spirit for service! Service can be done while maintaining proper safety measures. Read further into this newsletter to find out some ways to serve at home and learn about our upcoming service project! I would also like to thank you all for your involvement in all of our past events! From the June E-Olympics DCM to the Free Rice Service Project, to bOba TC, I continue to be amazed by all of you. D42E attendance has reached heights never seen before and I hope to continue to see this trend. Furthermore, as we approach the school year, remember to keep PTP fundraising and member recruitment on the top of your mind! Swimming in Service,

Carter Kawaguchi Lieutenant Governor 2020-2021 D42E | R10 | CNH District

Hey Narwhals! Summer is soon coming to a close, and I hope everyone figured out their choice of attending online/in--person class smoothly. Due to the continuation of the closing of the school, that means meetings and events will still be held virtually. Even though it is somewhat hard to interact through a screen, I hope we can all work hard together to provide service and overall STAY ACTIVE! For all those who attended our bOba TC, I hope you had fun and gained at least some experience/interest in board positions as it was a pleasure in presenting it to you if you joined my session. Moreover, as a division we have been successfully providing hours from our previous Free Rice Project, in which you will see the results later on the newsletter, and I hope we can continue to do so with our next monthly project! Stay Safe and Stay Healthy Narwhals! Swimming in Service,

Heather Nguyen District News Editor 2020-2021 D42E | R10 | CNH District

On June 27th, D42E held another DCM in which it was Olympic themed. We had various games including uno, code names, skribblio, and spyfall where individuals would play in groups that were held at different times. While the players were gaming, everyone else could then spend the whole DCM doing service for Free Rice when it was not their turn. In addition, if you were one of the many people who reached the goal of 15,000 grains of rice during this two hour meetup, CONGRATS!

Winners: Maya Tauber, Heather Nguyen, Eden Benezra, Ashley Edington, Claire Schatz, Sydney Pham, Eric Liu, Neharika Logeshwaran

On Saturday July 11th, an Officer Training Conference was held to help inform or peak interest in officers and members in Key Club. The event was separated into sessions, in which individuals could choose one out of the three conferences in each session to attend to. In addition to the training conference, we also went over what Key Club was and how it worked. In conclusion, this event was held to educate new officers and widen their knowledge about the history of Key Club and what they are representing.

837,000 grains of rice! For July, D42E chose to do Free Rice as the service project. Together, we achieved 837,000 grains of rice which showed the large amount of service we have done just for this month! Free Rice was a website where you would answer simple grammatical multiple choice questions in which each question you would get right amounted to ten grains of rice. Congratulations to the Santa Susana, Oak Park, and Newbury Park for being the top three in amounts of grains of rice donated.
