Designated “Important Folklore Material No. 122” by the Korean government, Andong Hahoe Folk Village is where members of the Pungsan Ryu family have lived for many generations. “Hahoe” means winding river, and the scenic combination of the river and Taebaeksan mountains mean the village is located in an auspicious location. Some say Andong Hahoe Folk Village is like a lotus floating on the water.

Yangsan Tongdo Temple Tour Saturday, 28 Feb / Camp Carroll CAC Depart: Camp Carroll CAC Parking Lot (0800) & Camp Walker Commissary Parking Lot (0900) Arrive: Camp Walker Commissary Parking Lot (1800) / Camp Carroll CAC Parking Lot (1900) Bring Won for entrance fee, food and snacks Tour Fee: $15 (Adult) for transportation / Under 12 years old: $10 Located in the southern part of Mt. Chiseo, Tongdo Temple is famous for not having any Buddhist statues in the temple. This is because the real shrines of the Buddha are preserved here. The name 'Tongdosa' was named with the belief that mankind can be saved through Buddhism. After Monk Ja-Jang brought the shrines of Buddha from Dang China, Tongdosa Temple was built during Queen Sun-Deok's reign (646). Tongdosa Temple is said to have survived numerous wars and invasions, its Beopdeung (temple candle) has not gone out in 1,300 years. There are 35 buildings and Pagoda's and 14 small temples in its vicinity. The main building is designated as National Treasure No.290. The temple is similar to a museum because of the numerous relics inside. There are 19 local treasures and 794 local cultural properties inside the temple. In place of the Buddha statue, the Geumgang Stairs behind the main building preserves the shrines of the Buddha. There is a beautiful view of Mt. Chiseo from the temple. The several hundred-year-old pine trees lined up from the entrance to Ilju Gate, the small drum (used when praying in front of a Buddha figure) and bell, the sunset, the pond, and the rocks and waterfalls behind the temple are grouped and called the 'Eight Famous Sceneries of Tongdo Temple. Refund/cancellation policy: If MWR cancels the trip, a full refund will be provided to participants. If participants cancel less than 48 hours prior to the trip, no refund will be issued.

We’ll be teaching the basic 6-count, the basic 8 count, and a variety of moves. We will also give a little bit of history of the dance style and social etiquette on the dance floor. For men and women, partner not required! Contact Info: Cell: 010-234-16955 Email: Travverchase@gmail.com or call the Carroll Fitness Center at 7658118 for details!
Fun and Exercise!
Get out and be social, learn a new skill and meet people! We want to welcome you to the exciting and fun world of social dancing that started way back in the 20’s. Swing Dancing, known in the 20s-40s as Lindy Hop and Charleston, is fun and surprisingly easy to learn! We aim to give brand new dancers a welcoming and supportive introduction into the world of swing dancing. More experienced dancers are welcome to come and brush up, or help teach! FMWR Outlook 69
